He'll probably need to go to the vet for some drops or antibiotic. It could be Feline herpes, or upper respiratory infection. It is common for either of them to occur after a time of stress for a cat (like moving in with a new owner). It is a good idea to have him vet-checked anyways. He'll be good to go with treatment, and shouldn't need further care after that. If you don't treat him, though, he'll get worse and could go blind from it. Until you get to the vet, you can gently wipe his eyes with a warm, damp washcloth, or paper towel or cotton ball. Make sure to wash your hands after wards, because some eye infections can transfer to humans. Enjoy your kitty!

Sounds like conjunctivitis. Did the cat come from a shelter? It is common in shelters and quite contagious. Call the shelter and ask if that is the cat's history. They should take responsibility to help you if you adopted the cat just two weeks ago. If not financial responsibility at least some advice on what you should do.

Probably he has a upper respitory infection. Or its feline herpes. He needs to get treatment for both of these condiitons from your vets. If lefted untreated it will get worse and could cause eye damage. Vision loss. So as soon as you can get kitty in for a check up.Untill then wipe off the eyes with a warm wet cloth gently.

Make sure he's had all his shots. You can get some boric acid and mix with warm water. Tape a cotton ball and gently swab his eyes 2-3 times a day. They should be better within a few days, if he doesn't have something more serious.
