Maybe you should consider the possibility that there is no heaven and hell and live for today instead of worrying about where you go when you die. Why not worry about death when you are dead?

According to Dante's Inferno, there are several levels of Hell. And I sympathize.I started getting the 'You're going to Hell' crap back when I was 11 years old and went to Catholic school and wasn't Catholic. So by the ripe old age of 14 and a half, I converted to Wicca and have been that way ever since(and am barely on the right side of 30!).I still get the 'You're going to Hell' crap from crazy old ladies every time I wear a pentacle. So I'd suggest pitching those 'heaven and hell' beliefs out the window.Go to Summerlands. It's much nicer there, it's open to everyone(just about) and if you've been a real sh!t to people (like mass murder etc),you'll have only your karma to deal with.

OK, so here's my take on the whole "Will gays who are generally good people, except that they have homosexual sex, go to hell" thing.
In the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, we believe that being gay is a choice. That's as far as I'll go into that belief because that's not really part of your question.
As to the concept of hell, it does exist. Now, are you talking about the place you will spend all of eternity, or the place you will spend time waiting for the Resurrection? We believe that hell is the place that people who have not accepted the full Gospel of Jesus Christ wait for the Resurrection. Now they are given the opportunity to accept the Gospel, but the choice is theirs. As to the place that those who do not accept the the full Gospel of Jesus Christ, spend all eternity, we call that Outer Darkness. And believe that only a very few will be there. Generally speaking my belief is that anyone who lives a good life and accepts Jesus Christ as the only way to get back to Heavenly Father, then they will spend eternity in one of the three kingdoms of Heaven.
Oh, and yes, some people here at R&S are very venemous and self-righteous, I just hope I don't come across that way.

No, there is no value system. Homosexuality is the same as overeating and murder, robbery and infidelity, lying and pride. The only sin that is not forgiven is blasphemy because you have to be saved to be forgiven and if you are using blasphemy against God then you are not a Christian and cannot be forgiven. Unless you are under the age of understanding which would be based on a more personal maturity level that only God can decide upon. You would not be lonely in Heaven and all your fears and troubles and pains would disappear. Best wishes for a full and happy life and eternity.

The fact of the matter is that you will go to hell if you don't accept Christ as your Savior and repent of your sins. Being gay is not the reason you will go to hell. Just the fact of not believing. Being a good person gets you nothing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying be bad. The Bible tells us that all of our good works are like filthy rags. There is nothing good we can do that will get us to heaven. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins. God doesn't want any of us to go to hell. Hell was made for Satan and his demons. God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son. Why can't you accept His gift? He takes us as we are, sinners. There aren't different hells. Just one. All sinners who didn't accept the gift of Salvation and repent will go there. Why wouldn't you want to go to Heaven? You have the idea that it will be fun in hell and boring in heaven. You are wrong. Lots of gays become Christians, thousands, so don't use that excuse.

If you hate coming to this category, why are you here? Do you like pain? Maybe the truth draws you, no matter how painful it is. I believe the bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Which sins are committed is not what gets you there. God simply will not fellowship with ungodliness. The only solution that I have heard of is to be covered by the Blood of Christ through faith in Him as your saviour. Then the presence of His spirit will guide you to holiness if you yield to Him. It is a lifelong process in this body here on earth. But He is faithful to complete that which He starts. If you hear Him calling, I hope you answer.

Tell people that tell you that your going to hell that it isn't their place to judge you. In fact we are to all love each other while we are here and anyone who tells you that you're going, will probably be waiting for everyone else that judge people the way they do in the same hell that they're words are condemning you to. I have many gay and lesbian friends and I don't believe that the God that I love will send them to hell because they have homosexual relationships. If you are a good person, if you cause more smiles than tears, if you give more hugs than hurts, and if more people love you than hate you. Then he loves you too regardless of what anyone says.

Of course hell will still be that, but just as for those doing good, the bible appears to be clear that we will be judged, and that we are judged by the fruit we bear, either good or evil.
those that have accepted Christ will be saved, and as someone that admits that their life style is a sin, in fact by that admission, you can be saved, those that will not admit they are in sin, can not repent.
And no you don't want to go to hell, since it in its pure nature of punishment. Perhaps your hell may be setting forever in a Billy Graham revival.

You aren't going to hell for being gay- that's ludicrous.
But if you don't want to go to heaven, either, I'm sure there's a place we heathens can party. (I'm not gay, but I'm not a saint.)
I figure we're going to a place we won't burn, but we don't have to sit around listening to harp music and kissing ***, either.
I don't know its name, but there's gonna be some great booze there. And we can look up and laugh at all the churchies, and look down and hock loogies at the murderers and pedophiles.

speaking of hell, there ARE varying degrees of hell in case you were wondering. I'm in the primo beach front right by the lake of fire. I'm sure Hitler and Mussolini will be there (condos are pretty cheap down there) As for rapists, pedophiles and the like, they get the ghetto area of hell where there is lots and lots of water to drink. only problem is they are nailed to the ground and whipped like cattle for all eternity. Lawyers, well we have a special place for them. The lake of fire i told you about earlier? they are the "firewood" that's used to feed the fire. They burn like starter logs or really well bundled phone books. kind of nice to see them writhe in agony. pretty cool.
