You know what I don't understand...I don't understand why it ok for a gay person to be "out" and tell the whole world about it....I don't understand why its ok for people to rant and rave about politics and thats ok....but let someone say they Love Jesus and how much Jesus loves them and we are craming religion down their throat. Quite frankly I do not like the word religion....I'm a follower of Jesus Christ because he took all my sin on the cross so that I may have communication w/ my Heavenly father and so that I may go to heaven. When I hear bashing things about Jesus its like your putting him on the cross all over again. He LOVES everyone....maybe you should ask a christian to explain the love of Jesus to you....instead of just bashing them and not being open to views other than your own.

Just as a note of information - When you tell me that I should just go about my "religion" and leave all the non-christians out of it.....well that is not what I'm called to do....part of being a follower of Jesus Christ is to tell all those who don't believe what He has done for them. This is what Christ has called us to do so forgive me if you find this question offensive....its only a question I had because it seems that everytime I turn around someone is bashing the name of my Lord and Savior.....

Thank you for such a beautiful question. I'm a Christian as well and all the people who rant on us Christians do it in ignorance. Can you just imagine the look on their faces when Our Lord Jesus Christ does return. As it says in the Bible, they will want the rocks and mountains to fall on them to hide them from the Face of the Lord.

Your question starts out by saying, why is it Christian bashing day?

Unfortunately every day in this earth age is a Christian bashing day. Just remember what Jesus said about this. He said to rejoice when they persecute you for His sake for you have rewards in Heaven. Close enough.

All we can do is pray for them and hope they will see the light.

Their father comes first then Our Lord Arrives. Remember, Don't fall for his tricks.><>

You may not like the word religion...but that's what christianity is: a religion.

Remember one thing though: In all my life the only people to ever come up to me and solicity their religion are the christians. I've never seen jews, hindus, muslims, or any follower of the other religions do that. I'm sure they do it sometimes, but christians solicit their religon far more frequently than anyone else.

If you feel that today is christian bashing day, its probably because all the non-christians are sick of people coming up to them and asking them if they want to "be saved" or getting knocks on the door at 6 AM by some jackass who wants to know if they "found Jesus."

Get over it and get used to it. Its going to keep on happening. The best thing to do is just concern yourself about your beliefs and let everyone else do as they please.

Today its christian bashing day.. Tomorrow its gay bashing day, the next muslims.. When different people have different beliefs and you throw immaturity into the mix, you get what gets posted here on this site. You as an adult just need to understand that because this is the internet, you dont know who is on the other side of that profile, generally teenagers or children who come in here wanting to start arguments.. I know this because when I was 15 I was the same..
religion is a belief.. a choice.. an opinion, and with opinions there is no right or wrong answer, so there is always going to be people who do not agree with you, its just the mature people who dont hack out on you for what you do believe in and vice versa!
Personally I dont need to ask a christian to explain the love of jesus because I do not care, I have researched religion and my opinion is it is not true. I am not open to the fact god exists just like you are not open to what I believe, that he does not. But I as a person am mature enough to know that your belief is your own and mine mine, I dont need to throw it down your throat just as you dont need to mine!
Just remember when reading a question or answer that is ludacris that chances are the person writing it is a child!

I am not bashing Christians or anyone else for that matter. I have respect for everyone that has picked their religion on their own free will. I was a Christian at one time so I do know what people are saying, on both sides of the fence. I still do some bible reading and I still study my religion. I still look at many other religions also. It is called an education. I love to learn even though I am way too old for school.

Try not to take it too personally. Unfortunately, some people have an "us and them" mentality that makes anyone of a different religion, race, nationality, or whatever, "fair game".

Being a student of the Buddha, I've been told on several occasions by Christians that I'm on my way to hell. There's no reason to hold anything against these people as I have come to realize that everyone is at their own level of understanding.

Peace...

Your religious beliefs are yours and yours only, not mine, not the next persons. The bashing comes from those that in the name of Christanity think they are above everyone else, that they're lives are the most up-held and fulfilling due to religion. It is small minded fasticist on every religious front that bash, christanity just seems to have more outspoken ones that any other religion. Dont take it personal to yourself, but bear in mind that if you delete the fact that others have personal relationships with a god also, you are nothing better than someone that bashes.

Do you see people trying to push their believes into anybody else but Christians doing it ??? have you seen a pattern here??? maybe the rest of us don't care about your believes, how would you feel if everyday you have people around you forcing Islam into you or Hinduism or Judaism, give me a break...This is not about bashing Jesus, it is about getting the message to you that the rest of us don't care about what you care

Telling everyone you are Christian = just fine
Asking a question for Christians = fine too
Asking everyone for an opinion on a Christian issue or belief = fine, but better expect to hear non-Christian points of view, since this site's for everybody.
Thinly veiling a long hellfire-and-brimstone sermon as a question = not fine at all
Trying to convert non-Christians = you'll get what you gave.

You *are* familiar with that passage about how "as you sow you reap," right?

Ditto to the post that DevlsAdvoct put up (with the link), and the same can be said for the following link.

Xtians are forever criticizing the lifestyles of other people and telling us we are going to hell. Maybe if someone of another religion kept telling you things like that, you might feel the need to speak your mind. So, it isn't about bashing at all. Stop whining.

It's a religion, whether you like it or not. It's ok for gay people to tell the whole world because they aren't preachy. They aren't saying "You'd better be gay, too!" If you simply went around saying "I'm a Christian", it would be fine, but when has that ever happened? If someone is bringing religion out of nowhere, it's probably preachy. And knock off this "oh, why doesn't anyone like Christians" crap, because you're answering your own question. You control 2 billion people worldwide, and you act like you're always being discriminated against.

You think it's "OK" for a gay person to be out? Do you know why they have an attitude that they don't care what others think sometimes? It's because they have grown a tough skin from having fanatics tell them they are going to hell, that their way of loving is an abomination, that they are disgusting, that they are unnatural, freaks, they are called horrible names, they are sometimes beaten and often discriminated against and humiliated.

You think it's "OK" to be an open non-Christian in a country where the vast majority is Christian? Do you know that in seven states, an atheist cannot hold office and/or testify in court? Do you even have a clue what it's like to be a Jew, having to listen to people's stereotypes, having to deal with people that accuse you of killing their God? How about a Muslim, being accused of being a terrorist, being feared just because of how you were born looking?

Wake up and get off your martyr kick. I'm sorry if people have been mean to you for being a Christian. But you are the one in the position of advantage in this society.
