FYI - no Girl Scout is required to have a uniform for participating in troop activities. It is strongly recommended since Girl Scouts is a uniformed organization but no troop leader has the authority to require it. That being said, e-bay is your best bet. Don't feel pressured to buy the entire uniform either. If you decide you do want her to have it, you can just buy certain pieces. I would recommend either a vest or sash for her awards. Some other options are:

Walmart

Girl Scout Shop Online Sale Items

Girl Scouts USA recognizes that the uniforms as expensive and since its goal is to be all inclusive they do not require it.

You might try the child consignment shops or Goodwill. I just did a search on EBAY and they had lots of Girl Scout/Brownie uniforms. Hope this helps.

First - no one can MAKE you buy the entire uniform. To be *in uniform* is only to have on your membership pin. My girls from Brownies to Seniors have only ever had a vest, and the troop bought it with cookie money. Any other part of the *uniform* was up to the parent to decide to buy or not. Most didn't. I did, because I'm stupid like that. Anyway, talk to your leader and see if they can agree on a non-official uniform. We tie-dyed t-shirts one year and agreed that blue jeans, the tie-dye and vest was our troop uniform. Besides saving the parents and the troop some money, it teaches the girls to be resourceful and frugal.

It depends on what your looking for... our troop only has to wear their sashes or vests... I bought my daughter the sash and she wore it with the Brownie shirt under it you can get at walmart and a pair of the brownie brown shorts ... I bought the shorts on Ebay for like 3 bucks this spring...

Now I do have the dress jumper that is like floral on the top and brown on the skirt part... it is used but in great shape and I beleive is around a size 7-8. My daughter won't be using it, I had bought it at a consignment store and she never wore it.

I have had to buy Boy Scout and Girl Scout uniforms for my kids. They grow out of them so fast and have to move on to other uniforms, it seems pointless to have to buy a new, expensive one. Try eBay!!

The uniform is not required by Girl Scouts. But if you look on e-bay you can find them. They just like the girls to have the age level pin.

I would give you mine But I cant find it... that was only like 6 years ago... I really dont think you need it unless she plans on staying in girl scouts. I NEVER used mine. it was a waste of money. if the scout leader gaurantees that she needs it, ebay would be a good place. godo luck...
