Interesting that you failed to mention a church as a possible place to meet a quality man or woman. Christianity via the church teaches faithfulness, sticking it out thru the bad as well as the good, being kind & loving to your spouse and so much more.
Christianity teaches that the family is central to mankinds being, man's humaness if you will, and that the marriage relationship between a man and a woman is like that of man to God, thereby placing extreme significance on marriage. It teaches people to be kind to each other, forgiving each other, to be patient with each other, and bear each others troubles together. It teaches us to hope all things, to believe in each other, and that whatever is good, just, pure, true and honest, to dwell on those things.
While it is possible to meet a significant, "quality" person in a bar the cow would be more likely to jump over the moon and the dish run away with the spoon first. When I was young I ran the bars, did all the things that were expected iin bars, and met vulnerable, beautiful but less than quality women in bars, even marrying one (yes it failed).
I went to a church at a business aquaintance urging, met a fine girl in a singles class, and we have been married 14 yrs now. The quality between the church girl and the bar room queen: day and night.
So my Granny was right after all.
Bars on the other hand have reputations as being a "meat house" where guys go to meet vulnerable girls for "fun times" hoping to get them drunk to lower their resistance to their sexual advances so that they may "score" with her.
The "problem" with the grocery theory is that everybody has to eat. Many less than quality people also cook, some even are superb cooks. Christianily is a chosen lifestyle. Those who truely adhere to Christ teachings tend to stay married and remain faithful to each other longer than the non-churched. They are committed to each other and back it up with marriage.
There is danger even in a church that you will get somebody unable to have a mature, loving, healthy relationship. One of most people's biggest mistakes is they get sex in front of getting to know the other person. The relationship then focuses on the sex aspect and all else gets blured. The second mistake is that they fail to see that it applies to them. Another big mistake is that of moving in together before marriage. It is not a prelude to marriage, there is no committment from either party and both are on their best behavior- for now. Then they marry and discover marriage IS different, that the other person has "changed". 80% of those who live together before marriage divorce. That exceeds the 50% divorce rate for first marriages in the US and flies in the face of logic.
Why stack the odds against you? This is not my own opinion but facts I have gathered from professionals in psychology. And it seems that in my vocation I have ended up counciling with a number of people on finance and relationships.
A lot to think about. Christians are not perfect, but are trying to live a better way. Selfishness never works and is out of balance. That is what you find in bar room kings and queens.

You need serious help. Well let me tell you I disagree. I do cook and clean but when i see guys ogling me or flirting with me at the supermarket or walmart or anywhere like that I personally run away! Seriously- men who Go to shopping places for the specific purpose of "picking up women" are pathetic. The best quality Men and women are everywhere, you just have to find the RIGHT one. Looking in itself is kinda lame and immature. IF you meet THE ONE at the grocery store thats fine but going there to pick up chick is SAD!

It relies upon on what international locations you're touching on. In 1st international international locations, the two adult men an women persons face equivalent hardships. adult men would face dropping their little ones after divorce and are in many cases positioned down with the help of society without society understanding they are doing it. on the different hand, women persons in 1st international international locations nevertheless face subjects like rape, low sales, problems having little ones on an analogous time as working, no maternity go away, or perhaps discrimination interior the workplace. nevertheless, women persons do have reward that adult men do no longer. In third international international locations or something in between, there is not any query who has it worse.

A criminal needs something to buy or eat too, and probably they go to the same groceries store with you. If they're good looking, and you say hi to them, then you're starting in troubles.

I dont think you can generalise like that. There could be bars or stores with all crappy bad criminals and some could have all great ones for everyone. But from peoples experiences some might be better.
