Please don't buy these kind of dogs-they are bred merely for their looks...and end up with terrible health problems..I had a regular Yorkie, not a "teacup" for 15 yrs and she only weighed 5 pounds..that's pretty tiny i think. I would say get a Yorkie if I were you-they are sweet, easily-trained, and the best companions! It will never leave your side...Of course they are alot of work but its worth it, believe me!

Well, there is no such thing as a Teacup Yorkie or a Pocket beagle. Those are just misleading terms that unethical breeders use to sell unhealthy puppies for big bucks.

A beagle. I put a down payment on a Yorkie and the whole litter died before we could get it. Their bodies are so little. They get sick easy. You have to be very careful with them. I have a cousin that has a Yorkie and she has to feed it baby food, five times per day. Hope this helps and good luck.

Teacup and pocket size dogs tend to have a lot of health problems. They weren't originally bred to be so small.

Any designer dog is prone to health problems because of interbreeding to "perfect" the line. Also, too many of these breeders run puppy mills, where the dogs are kept in tiny pens and not allowed to socialize or play. They are kept for one reason, breeding. Once a litter is weaned, she's bred again, and again and again. The conditions are awful!
There are literally thousands of unwanted dogs available. If you go to Petfinders.Org, you can pick the breed you want, and they will provide a listing of pounds, humane societies, and rescue groups that have that breed of dog available. Please consider saving the life of, and giving a future to a dog who deserves so much better that they have had.

i don't know what a pocket beagle is...my friend has a beagle and it barks all the time...yorkies are very cute! i've been looking for one online and they do seem to have lots of illnesses...alot of the ones i've seen for adoption are sick...and a lot of them aren't good with kids...not sure if that is a factor for you....

I would take teeth problems over yappy any day. You get the dog knowing about the teeth problems so you start taking care of them from day one. Once his/her new teeth come in make sure you have bones for chewing, start brushing regularly from puppy ( before the new teeth come in just to her them used to it). etc. speak to a vet and get the proper guidance for taking care of the teeth of such breed. GOOD LUCK!

Anything that has been breed to be smaller than it is supposed to be is going to have health problems. If you want a small dog, go with a chihuahua.
