They are never going to taste exactly like fresh fruit. Frozen fruits are mainly for using in smoothies, daiquiries, and desserts. Generally, you don't eat them expecting them to taste like they were just picked. However, just leaving them in the refrigerator instead of the freezer will thaw them. It might take a couple of days but I'm not sure how safe it is to thaw them at room temperature. I know you can't do that with meats.

Frozen berries will never, ever compare to the 'real' thing. The closest will be if the berries are 'loose' and separated, then you can grab a handful of the frozen jewels and put in your cereal bowl or on top of your cheesecake etc., otherwise you want to use them in smoothies, or in batters like muffins, pancakes etc., and those you want to put into the batter 'frozen' NOT thawed. If you put it in thawed, you would have (using blueberries for example) an ugly, black batter....icky looking for sure. Plus, your liquid proportions would be off, so you have to take that into account. Blenderize them and make a sauce is another option.

Put them in a colander and run them under cool water until they defrost (3-4 min) but are not "mushy" or anything. You will have some liquid (nature of all frozen berries) but the colander will naturally drain that off as they defrost.
Then you can eat them fresh, mix them in pancake batter or muffins, whatever you like!
Good Luck.

Put them in the fridge for a few hours, and then if you want to have no liquid whatsoever drain them with a strainer before serving. Don't thaw without putting in the fridge. The sharp contrast is what makes the berries so soft and watery.

I use them to mix in other things. I don't think they can ever be quite as good as fresh berries but I do like eating frozen strawberries which I just leave out to defrost.
BTW, I live in Puerto Rico where it is hot so I have to watch that I don't forget what I am unfreezing or it will go bad.

try defrosting them in a sieve so the liquid drains but they still will be somewhat soggy

I dunno if this is right but it works for me:
Take frozen berries, still in closed bag - submerge them in cool water for as long as u need.
