Oh being that Barney is Satan, and Athiests deny that Satan exists, well.... I think the question is moot.

true atheists do not hate jesus. they see him as a pretty good human being. a true atheist would hate barney much more because barney is evil from an evolutionary perspective. what society deems as evil are usually deeds that if everyone did them all the time would cause society to fall apart and humanity to fail. if everyone was always hanging around exclusively with little kids...hugging them, playing with them, dancing with them, and could only be conjured into existence by little kids, that being (whether they were a purple dinosaur or blue dodo bird) would eventually become an "evil" being...one that is so mentally derranged that if every human being acted like them, the human race would become extinct.
if you really do hate jesus, then maybe you're not quite the atheist you thought you were.

I don't hate Jesus. In fact I rather like Jesus. But if he turns out to indeed be God, that means he is somewhat responsible for the creation of Barney, and that makes me a sad panda.

Barney...and Elmo....they need to get taken off the market ASAP!
Everywhere you turn (when small children are in the family) it's "there's elmo!" The tv, dvd, music, toys....its crazy and they only want the stupid things. It's like the poor kids are worshiping them. Ugh....and that goes for any other mass media "idols" *cough*Paris Hilton anyone?

If someone were truly an atheist, they wouldn't believe that Jesus ever existed, so they would have to hate Barney by default.

I don't hate anyone. But I have a question about your question. Why would it change my hatred towards either of them if Barney was a gay teletuby in a purple satin suit? Because....if you havn't notice....Athiests not only not believe in god, We don't believe in satin either. Smart one. People like you, Nerdly Stud, Make me laugh....and not in a good way.

Just because an Atheist doesn't believe in God doesn't mean they hate anyone.
Although, I'd guess they hate that people make silly assumptions about them based on their beliefs.

Good answer miss Bliss; I gave you a thumbs up: Now for an answer to the question; I believe in Jesus enough to be hated for it if someone wanted to hate me for that. If you don't believe in a thing enough to be hated for it, then you shouldn't believe in it, or at least not claim to be for it.
