Last Thursday at lunch at school, I was sitting on my boyfriend's lap. It's not a big deal. I am 15 and do it all the time.
However, the Principal came over and told me to get off of his lap and sit properly. I told him he was overreacting and he was like well maybe he should call my dad to see if he agrees and said he would if he ever sees me doing it again. Then he was like I was lucky he's not my dad because if he was I wouldn't be sitting on anything except a pillow for a while. What does that mean anyway.
I think my dad would be steamed and I am already in trouble for something else. What is the big deal about sitting on a boy's lap?

People just view it as "improper." I got in trouble for the same thing when I was your age. Adults (especially those who work in schools, libraries, etc.) love to make teenage girls feel ashamed and embarassed for little things. Just try not to do it in school anymore, or anywhere else you could get in trouble.

it's not "age" appropriate as your school administration believes. And the comment about the pillow was your principal insinuating that if he was your dad, he'd tan your hide (whoop/spank) your tush red and sore so that you'd only be able to sit on a soft pillow. He was out of line interjecting his personal views into the situation. Check your student handbook and see if it's specifacally written that sitting in your bf's lap is a no-no. If it's not and the principal still messes with you, bring it to your student council? Start a petition. But in my personal opinion, save it for when your not in a highly impressionable public setting.

You're 15 and you're IN SCHOOL! What were you doing sitting on his lap in school? You ought to be thankful that the principal called you on it. You said you dad would be steamed, so you know you shouldn't have been doing it. An increasing number of schools are limiting or eliminating PDA on school grounds or at school sponsored events.
You're too young. You don't want to get pregnant at 15 or 16 or 17. You're too young to be "going with" or getting serious about one guy. You have dances and games and trips to amusement parks, and prom and a million things ahead of you in your high school years. Don't limit it by tying yourself down to one guy too early, or by having a baby too early.
Try to look ahead. What are your goals? Think about college, a career. Your possibilities are endless. Live your dream.

The principle thinks that it will lead to other things if they allow that level of pda @ school. Its really stupid. I think he meant that he would ground you by saying that you "wouldn't be sitting on anything except a pillow". He probably thinks its disgusting behavior, not realizing what else teenagers do... He should just stop freaking out. If you get in trouble... you get in trouble, its not the end of the world.

The big deal is you were told by someone in authority not to do it.
Learns to accept that you don't always call the shots and you'll be way ahead of the game.
At 15 you shouldn't tie yourself down to one boy. It's limiting and can lead to a step you shouldn't make at your age.
Sorry....I know you don't what to hear this but you asked.

You don't need to be sitting on anyones lap. Get off and quit grinding him and giving him a woody at school. You are there to learn not to show off how "grown up" you are. Real grown ups don't sit on others laps in public and have limited public displays of affection. If you wouldn't do it in front of your parents you shouldn't be doing it.

You are 15, you shouldn't be allowed to sit on his lap AT SCHOOL. Blatent sexuality is not exactly kosher at school, when you are 25 you will understand why.

Your Principal was totally right to do what he did....A school needs rules, and sitting on a boyfriend's lap is going too far. Would you want to see a teacher sitting on his wife's lap, if she visited him at school ? ( I doubt it)

It is inappropriate. Also the school can get into trouble if something were to happen to you. As you grow up, you'll understand it better.

well your b/f can finger you or he can get aroused just by you sitting and wiggling and giggling. Parents and adults do not want your Dad to be mad at them for not stopping the potentially sexual behavior on school grounds before it gets out of hand.
You should be introuble for back talking an Administrator anyway!

You're too young if your asking 'what's the big deal?' First your sitting on his lap, then fondling, then WHAT NEXT! The principal was right and he should've called your dad.
