Start saving now. It's better to have more money than needed. If you don't use the money you save you can always put it towards your new life as newlyweds or put it in the bank.

The longer in advance you start saving, the more money you will have to spend on the big day. It also makes it easier to put away a little at a time rather than a huge amount in a short time.
Weddings are expensive, the average cost of a US wedding is almost $27,000.
While you don't have to (and shouldn't) spend that much, it's hard to get your dream wedding when you don't have much saved.

Depends on how lavish a wedding you want. In general, though, if you know you're gonna do this, then start saving NOW. If you need the money, then you'll be glad you started saving as early as you did. And if you don't need all the money for the wedding, you can use the extra towards a down-payment on a home.
Good luck!

It's never too early to save.
However, unless you already live together and have co-mingled your finances, I'd recommend that the two of you save in separate accounts. Two years is a loooong way off, and you don't want to have issues splitting up that money in case something goes awry.
It's very smart to start saving early. And if you end up not needing all that you save, it'll be a great headstart on a house down payment or some other joint expense/investment.
Good luck!

I would start saving now if you want a big wedding. There is also no reason why you shouldn't start saving now. That way you don't have to be pushed for time limits once you start buying everything.

Saving for the wedding now is fine, but you really shouldn't start planning the specific details of the wedding until 12-14 months out-- dresses and other things get discontinued, your tastes and plans may change, halls and restaurants change their prices and sometimes even change owners, etc.

Yeah, it's a good idea to start saving for your wedding. In fact, I'm getting married myself, in 3 years. Good luck!

Now is a perfect time to start saving money for your wedding. At least he is givein you time to get things together :) My husband popped it one me a month before we got married that he wanted to set a date! So you can imagine the hassle we went through getting everything together. But it all worked out good in the end
