Alright this question came from a stupid argument me and my friend had. Stupid yes, but don't care. Just care about the answer. Does rice goes better with butter and salt or sugar? Oo i know it's ridiculous I know. just want an answer ^.^ this argument turned into a competition.

Rice absorbs salt better, which means that the rice taste with salt will be smoother and more satisfying. Rice and sugar don't mix as well, so the taste will be less complex, and therefore less satisfying -- though rice pudding is very tasty when you're really hungry for it.

I eat it with all three.

Salt for when you are cooking it.

Butter and sugar after it's done to make it tolerable if you are having just plain white rice.

I don't use butter and sugar if I am putting something on top of the rice like pepper steak or red beans and smoked sausage.

When I was a kid,Mom would make rice milk salt and pepper.
I like butter,or I make it with chicken broth instead of water.I`ve also dumped in a can of tuna or chicken.Also good with beanless chili.Never used sugar,diabetic.

What's wrong with both ways, Ever hear of rice pudding? Fried Rice, Sticky rice. Where's that rice guy when you need him? I like rice which ever way I am eating it at the time.

I have never ever heard of sugar on rice.. why the hell would anyone even say such a thing??
