Soem vets will come to your home to put your dog down. That way the animal will be home and feel relaxed in a familiar enviroment. If you want her to be comfortable until the morning when you get to your vet, the only thing I can think of off hand is Tylenol PM's. They put me out quickly, I'm sure they will work for your dog. If your dog is in really bead shape (pain) I'm sure there is a 24 hour animal hospital that can take care of her. Anyways, I hope all goes well for her and you.

First of all, my sincere sympathies on what you're going through. I have dearly loved each pet that has been a part of my life and when they are going through a rough time it is rought on those who love them.
If there is no emergency veterinarian services in your town, there are few options for you other than waiting it out. The medications your vet gave the dog could be impacting upon the desire to eat and causing the unusual breathing. Without a vet's input, there is no way to be absolutely sure.
At this point, all you can do is try to make the dog as comfortable as possible. Put her in a basket or box with low sides so she can see you and you can easily keep your hand on her to help relieve her stress and discomfort. Other than that, there is little you can do at this time without finding some emergency vet assistance.
If your beloved pet does pass away this evening, at least the last thing she will be aware of is your loving touch and attention. However, do not assume this is what is going to happen, but rather plan on seeing a vet first thing in the morning with your ailing pet and hope for the best.
My thoughts are with you.

Euthanising and helping her sleep are two different things, I really hope you know that. There should be a vet in town somewhere that has a 24 on call service number. Get the yellow pages out and start calling. Dont attempt to euthanise her yourself. Seriously, some people might just shoot there sick old dog, but that is cruel and it sounds like you love her so much, you couldnt do that yourself. Just lay with her and maybe sleep with her. All she really wants is you, right now, anyway.

I am so very sorry about this. A dog breeder told me what to use and how to do it but the thing is if you don't do it exactly right then you could cause her a lot more pain than she is going through now..so your best bet is to take her to a vet....spend the rest of the night with her and cuddling....that way she has a great last memory instead of you walking up to her with a needle and sticking it into her heart with fluid...so just cherich these last few hours with her..show her that you love her

Well please don't try to do anything like that yourself.
Do you have a vet that take emergency calls I thought they all did.
If its the money then I guess your doing the best you can.
Oh my you can give benedrly to help her rest but please don't over dose and try to kill her, This has to be done properly
It can be so cruel if not done right. She only has to get to the morning. Have you tried to see if any vets in the area will answer.
All the vets here have a service and I know they will come out.
If you say you have to pay it out I just can't believe they would have her suffer.
If you have the prednisone with you maybe you can increase it for the night. I will check back contact me if you need to

Hi there,
Millions of people all over the world are affected by hair loss, and it's not only the males that suffer this condition as even females are affected by this problem. What's sad is that many of the individuals affected by such a condition end up just accepting what is happening to their hair due to lack of information or options.
If you are looking for natural hair regrowth methods this is a good guide you can read http://hairagain.toptips.org

I was in almost the exact same situation last weekend, except my dog's heart was failing. I can't offer any advice about meds, is there an after hours vet clinic you can call? My heart goes out to you. I know exactly what you're going through. Try to keep her as comfortable as you can. Our little dog went peacfully, and as sad as it was, it was a relief that she was no longer in pain. We just kept her company, and told her to go ahead to the other side, and we would see her there someday. I really miss her, we had her for 13 years.

Don't euthanise her at home. There are emergency vets if you are desperate, just look in your phone book or online. Otherwise, try to make the dog comfortable for the night and get him/her to the vet first thing in the morning. They can make her more comfortable and discuss your options with you.

Look on the internet or in the phone book for 24-hour emergency vets or vet hospitals. Maybe it really is her time to go, but you need help with this. In the meanwhile, cuddle her, talk to her and give her love.
