God has given many the spiritual gift of discerment, but just like any other gift it needs to be nurtured and matured. All gifts can also be abused.

"Gift of discernment?" If you are 'examining yourself', then you ought to 'discern' why you are so gullible as to believe that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a bunch of ignorant Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' about fundamental matters of existence and reality. A universe in which all that exists are a 6,000 year-old earth and heaven, a solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth), talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys, a shepherd staff that turns into an asp, demons chased out of people and into pigs, friendly spirits, evil spirits, walking on water, multiplying loaves and fishes, food falling from the sky, conception by a ghost, people raised from the dead, the sun stopping in its tracks, parting seas, people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky), world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain, creating people from a dust bunny and a rib, a magical tree of knowledge, god speaking from a burning bush... and ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.
In a sane world, anybody running around spouting ANY of that crap, would be locked up in the State Farm for the Funny. Apparently, though, mass insanity seems to convey some sort of free pass for the loony.
Get a grip. Your 'gift of discernment' is not working, since you aren't able to discern bullshit when you see it.

We should examine ourselves, but we should also use our gifts of discernment to maintain the separation from the world.
There's a fine line, admittedly, but if you hone your gift, you won't come accross as judgemental.

The pre-judge people incorrectly because they believe they have the gift of discernment when they don't.

Yes get the log out of our own eye... not everyone who says they are a worker of God is.. you must learn to discern spirits and only listen to those you know are really of God.. be careful not to fall into their trap..

Everyone makes mistakes (you included) (me included) Everyone prejudges others at some point and time.
Just by you posting this question, you are doing the same thing that you are asking why others do it.
You need to look within yourself before you try to look within others.

The flaw with the church is the people in it, but while your pointing fingers at others I'm sure your making your share of mistakes too.

You're doing that with this question. When you can find the answer within yourself you won't need to ask.

Jesus tells us that we tend to miss the plank in our own eye... Love everyone (friend and enemy) as you love yourself... Drop the judgmentalism...
