If there's a hell it implies someone goes there, right? Same with Heaven. Logic dictates then that some families and friends would be split apart. How could you be happy in heaven knowing a loved one will be tortured eternally?

Because the way you know your loved ones here will not be the same in Heaven

Ask a one of these people who know all about the bible and hell, exactly what Heaven and Hell look like.

They can't tell you, they can only repeat what they have read from the bible, like this is some kind of contest or you get more points for being able to repeat everything they have read.
Wrong, there is no hell, no satan, these were made up by people afraid of the truth and losing their power, and we all know who these are.

Heaven looks alot like it does here, only no negitive vibe.
God is pure love, and he wants us in heaven. There are true evil souls that are here and when they leave earth!!! God will take them. Want better details- because I don't remember everything.

the fact that some people will go to heaven and some people will go to hell does NOT logically dictate that families and friends will be split. Logically, my entire family could go to hell or we could all go to heaven. You forgot those two logically possible outcomes, but whatever.

I'll agree that families could be split up. I could go to heaven and my mom could go to hell, but as far as being unhappy . .. . you're thinking in THIS world's terms. You're thinking in THIS life, like a mortal human. You don't understand that the afterlife isn't like life on Earth. We don't have husbands and wives anymore. Those HUMAN EARTHLY relationships cease to be.

WHY does everybody try so freakin' hard to find something wrong with the bible, or with christianity, or with religion in general?

I believe that you don't go straight to Heaven or Hell when you die, but still even if someone you loved goes to Hell you shouldn't be eternally sad. Think if you're in Heaven you should be way to happy to think about someone who obviously wasn't a good person (that's why they're in Hell). You'll be with your creator God and that is most important! God loves you and wants you to be happy!

If you are the one who goes to heaven, you will realize that your loved one who goes to the hell is not really your loved one that you knew in this life but merely an illusory appearance of a continum of consciousness. You will also realize that there are in hell due on the most parts to thier own ignorant of this fact - that existences are illusory and empty of an own being. Beside, when you are in heaven the bliss you will be enjoying is so great you will not even remember your loved ones here on earth. Which explains why we don't get visitation from our loved ones who have deceased.

This is only my opinion, but I think in heaven we will be fully in the presence of God. We will feel His love and joy to such a huge extent that it will overwhelm every other feeling, thought and emotion.

The analogy I use is like if you had a toothache and then someone took a chainsaw to your leg. The pain would be so intense that you would immediately forget everything else - including your toothache.

Heaven will be great. Bank on that.

If Christianity is correct, I have a loved one in Hell. So even with a free ticket, I'll decline Heaven to share Hell with those I love.

And if God doesn't like it, he can go to hell.

That's exactly my problem with the idea of Hell.

I could never be happy in Heaven knowing people I loved were there. That would break me.

After reading all these answers, it's sad to think people believe in this. It's more proof of the insanity of religion, there is just no logic to it.

There will be no pain, suffering or tears in Heaven. You will not remember about unsaved loved ones.
