No you do not have to let it defrost but it shall be very tuff if you do not my quick way is to put it in a saucepan with a steak marinade, try this 2 tablespoons worstishire sauce,2 tablespoons tomato sauce or ketchup depending where you are from, along with 1/2 cup soy sauce and finally 2 tablespoons oyster sauce this will also give a nice flavour to your steak heat on LOW until steak has thawed, hope you enjoy

Yes. If you want to eat it now, put it in a bowl and cover with water. Microwave it for 15 minutes or until it's thawed The water will prevent it from cooking.

I cook it frozen often, I just lower the temp and cook it a bit slower then if it were thawed. It's never tough. It depends on what type you are cooking on the toughness factor. A filet should be cooked slow and flank should be slow as well.

No, but it will be tough after you cook it. Steak is best when it's never been frozen. Pound it with a mallet beforehand to make it extra tender.

The quality will suffer for sure if it has been frozen. Look at all the juices you will loose! Plus, it tends to be tough once frozen, for some reason. The best rule is:
Cook it fresh, if you can, otherwise thaw it out for the best results.

No, especially if you like it rare.
However, it's best with fillet. Rump or sirloin can be a bit tougher.
