I hope you realize that TheOnion is a parody paper - and that it uses subtle sarcasm to get its point across. In the article that you cite, the purpose is to get across the fact that, contrary to the demonizations by the pro-lifers, women don't enter into the choice for abortion with this cavalier or 'pro abortion' celebratory attitude. TheOnion is mocking the pro-lifers with their trite and simplistic characterization of those who make the choice for abortion. It's a choice that is strongly considered and is not taken lightly. I hope you and others are able to appreciate theonion's use of sarcasm; it's important to develop that to be able to get what it's saying.

I am very pro life but Id have to say that I dont know many women who are pro-choice and/or have had abortions that are as cold as this woman. My best friend's ex had 2 abortions and when she found out that a baby's heart is beating steadily by the 6th week, she was very hurt that she had been told the baby is a "fleshy mass of tissue" until the 3rd month. I'm guessing there are some very cold women out there like this girl, and their day is coming... sadly for them. Of the women I know they have never been "psyched" for an abortion. I personally think this artical is written as a hoax by a gamer who wants to ruffle some feathers and has probably never been through an abortion or pregnancy.

You really believe that pro-choice/women who've had abortions think like that? Wow.
I don't know if I should feel sorry that you've never had a good discussion with a pro-choicer or sad that you've formed that opinion on your own. It's pro-choice, not pro-abortion.
Let me put it this way: Do pro-Lifers get together and say "Lets control ALL womens bodies and never let them decide ANYTHING for themselves!"
(I know they don't but do you get my point?)
P.S Apologies Stewie_Griffin_Lover for misunderstanding you. I didn't read the question all the way through. My bad :-)

Yes, of course. The Onion is where I get all my pertinent news from. And yes all pro-choice women feel just this way.
I can't wait to have my abortion!!
I hope you didn't think that was a real news article.

Oh, "The Onion"...they p1ss me off. What a bunch of smart-alek jerks.
And, no one takes pleasure in an abortion; it's a last resort. But, I'm glad it's available.

I think this was supposed to be rhetorical.
It's digusting & disturbing.
Yes, I believe some take their decisions lightly, but I've never seen anything like this.

The writer of the article was using SARCASM. If people are too stupid to tell the difference, that's their problem.

Okay, if you don't realize already, that site is a joke.
No, most women who get one, are horribly upset about it. They don't want to do it, it's not something they enjoy.
