21 days. one week in one week in the middle and one week out. Female dogs can get pregnant at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after their heat. This is a possibility. The best time for the dogs to get preg is about the 11-15 day of the heat. But the 2 weeks before and after could happen also. It is according on the size and breed of dog of how often it will come into heat. The average is every 6 months.

my dog stays in heat for 2 weeks,and that happens every 6 months.drives the male dog nuts. be safe have them fixed around 6 months of age and you won't have the problem or un wanted puppies.

Usually an average of 3 weeks, one to go in, one while in and one to go out. So you can't feel like it is safe at any time during that 3 week time.
