This does not mean there was no mad cow disease.

There were problems, which is why Kosher law was created, to keep Jews from dying due to "scientific" methology, limited at it was.

After a time they found that milk products and meat products didn't mix well and made, well, bacteria. This is true! A little left over milk on a plate can be a good petrie dish!

They didn't eat the lower part of the animal, where the intenstines are, because there's a lot of extra bacteria there.

So the Kosher Laws kept the amount of deaths down in the community.

Funny thing is that Islamic code is also very similar about pigs, which are prone to meat diseases without proper cooking and treatment. They, like the JEws, forbid pig as an unclean beast.

As for why they eat so much, God was always demaning a Spring Lamb be sacrificed.

If it's good enough for God, it's good enough for Man!

Because meat is the best tasting meal (if prepared correctly). I'm from Argentina and we eat meat 3 or 4 times a day, and with so many diseases like you say, we learned to prepared our meat well well done, and now that's all we eat. The less blood left in the meat after coking, the more chances of catching something -especially with pigs.
There are many places where the cows are still fed the same way like back in biblical times, and other places give the cows beer and give them massages (lucky bastards). Try to find some organic meat, and it usually tasted the best.
There is no question that being a vegetarian is the best way to eat, but if I have to stop eating meat............well that's just inconceivable.

That's like saying, "Why do people whose names begin with R, eat so much meat?"

Christians are individuals. Some eat a lot of meat. Some eat a little meat. Some eat no meat. Why are you even generalizing about Christians? Lots of different folks eat lots of meat.

I'm a Christian and here's why I DON'T eat a lot of meat.
1. It's too expensive and I can't afford it.
2. I LOVE beef, but I am very allergic to it.

I eat some, when I can buy the generic packets of 50 cent lunch meat. Also, I sometimes buy the roasted chickens at the grocery store.

Why???? Well... why not?? So what if it has chemicals in it? So does everything else. It just means that after my body is dead, it might not decompose right away.

I think it has a lot to do with the culture that most Christians live in. In my parents' day, and moreso in my grandparents' day, meat was not eaten as much as it is today, even though people had no beliefs against eating it. This is because meat was just not so readily available. People had to slaughter their own animals. They KNEW where meat came from. They worked hard to get a little bit of it. So their diet had a lot more fruits and vegetables than ours does today.

But today, meat is available and most people don't have to ever see an animal killed in order to enjoy meat. It's a big part of our culture. Fast food restaurants have very little if any vegetarian selections, and picnics and family get-togethers often include hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill.

People today I think do not realize that they are even eating more meat than their ancestors did. Meat was a rarity in the Bible times. People ate meat only on special occasions, or once in awhile. Most of the other times, they ate vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and legumes.

Who said Christians aren't allowed to eat meat? I eat meat all the time. So do a lot of other religions. Why just single out Christians as if were the only ones? I don't understand your question, and I think it's just another excuse to pick on people for dumb reasons... Sorry, just the way I feel.

thats stupid, its like saying "why do atheists eat meat, because back in evolutionary times meat wasnt filled with mad cow disease and stuff"

meat is good, and why shouldnt we? We arent required to, or required not to. Christians - new testament born again Christians - have no real regulations on our meat intake. Some catholics do, but protestants such as myself, have no rules. We eat meat because we like to. Thats it. Period.

And if you meant eating meat was a sin, in genesis it says "Every animal that moveth, shall be meat for you", depending on the translation. Theres also. "Now go out and take me some venison" (venison means meat, usually deer, and usually not geneticaly mutilated for flavor).

For the slow or laze, the above paragraph means we have dominion over animals, as stated in genesis. The commandment against killing is clearly directed towards man, not animals.

Well since veggies are sprayed with all kinds of chemicals too, one isnt worse than the other. And there haven't been any cases of mad cow disease in the US.

Diet ignorance. Consumer life style. Many christian leaders teach doctorines to the christian mind so as to CULTivate it in such a way so as to encourage basing their actions on what is determined by their ideals about life rather than facts. Of course not all christians do this, these are the potential freethinkers.

"No mad cow disease" where do you get this information? Are you basing your views on what you consider to be ideal? Are you confused? or do you have some facts? sources?
You are doing the same as the 'christian' you are refering to.

Give me the 10 points because I have taught you something about yourself which is true. Are you afraid of truth or not??

What do chemicals in meat have to do with my religion? Does it say in my Bible I can't eat chicken with chemicals or something? Your question and your elaboration are completely unrelated as far as I can see.

God gave man dominion over the animals. That means we may eat them.

What else ya got?
