I have a block that has been in the fridge for a while. A couple times I took it out and cut the mold off around the sides and was tempted to use it but decided not to and put it back in the fridge. It looks and smells fine except it has a little oil leakage.

Almost any kind of food can go bad.
You should NEVER eat something that you had to cut the mold off of!! Just because the rest of the cheese looks good doesn't mean that it doesn't contain mold or bacteria.
Throw it out.

Yes.It will definitely go bad! It will grow mold on it,when it is left in the refrigerator.Throw it away,I would't eat it with oil leakage on it.
