If he's washing his own car compulsively, plus yours now...it sounds like he has a bit of a problem. Want to send him a message without going crazy and punching him out? Go down stairs with a bottle of turtle wax, or some kind of sponge, cleaner, windex.....anything. Simple say, "Here, you'll probably need this." Then walk away.

Sounds like he either suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder or has an extreme disdain for dirty cars. Either way, these are his issues and you shouldn't be made to suffer from them. I guess the choice you have to make is whether his washing your car is causing you an inconvenience or not. If its not, just leave him be eventually he'll go away and if it is, then have a civilized conversation with him telling him that while you appreciate him going out of his way to wash you car, you would really prefer it if he didn't as you found that to be very uncomfortable.
If he persists either let the property management people know or contact your attorney or the cops. Good luck!

You do have an unusual situation on your hands. Does he do a good job or does he leave any soapy residue? If he does a good job, then thank him each time he does it and bake him a plate of cookies. If he does not so good a job, then point out the places he missed or better yet, buy a can of Armorall and ask him if he could do the inside too. Tell him to be sure and get the tires, too,if he hasn't already. If this doesn't deter him, get a car cover and see if he has the nerve to remove it. If he does, then he either wants to marry you or he DOES have OCD.

Thank him. He is doing all the work not you. Do you live in California? People here are obsessed about having their cars sparkly clean all the freakin time. I don't know about everyone, but I wash mine at least twice a year. Why wash it if it will get dirty again. My interior is always clean and there is never any clutter or papers lying around. That is where it matters to me.

I'd just pull the other car out of the garage and tell him to wash that one too. Also, let him know if you want the lawn mowed or the dishes done. When it's all done... a simple "thank you" would be fine.

That is creepy. I am not sure taht saying somthing to him while he is muttering to himself washing your car is a good idea...who knows what is going throug his head. Do you have a friend who lives near who might be able to come by? Do you feel like if you talked to him it might turn ugly? I might even be leaning twords a call to the police. His "gesture" is univited and could even possibly damage your property. I feel sorry for you what a freeky neighbor.

I would say to him that he has no right to do that, it is your responsibility to do that, if you so choose. Let him know, he has no legal right to touch your property. Do this if he isn't a nut case.
He is like my neighbor, washes that car every other day. I said he was going to wash the paint off someday!

I would just smile and say thank you and let him know that he can wash it once a week. Then suggest he does your lawns and garden weeding as well. IF the guy is a sucker for work. USe him

I would be happy if I had that "problem", but it is rather strange. If it makes you uneasy, then tell him nicely that you appreciate him trying to help, but it won't be necessary in the future. If he does it again after that, then call the cops. He may just have that cleaning disorder, though.

I can really see why you feel that way, but you might consider that it is a favor he's doing for you.
You could just tell him thank you and be glad you have a neighbor who is willing to do things for you.
Maybe you could do something nice for him in exchange.
