In addition to the other good advice, some dogs do not paw or scratch at the door but may nudge the door knob, so hanging some bells on the knob can give pup another way to let you know once he figures out what it is for. If you have a cat... you may want the bells to hang short so cat will not jump up and swing from them :)

Hello. I will pass on 4 core dog training & behavior approches. 1st) Make your animal work for its food ( that's what dogs do---WORK) so...make the animal sit and stay for at least 10 seconds then allow it to eat. 2nd) Exercise, exercise, exercise... very important (running around in the yard doesn't count). Take the animal for long walkes or joggs, play fetch, do some basic training (sit, down, come, etc.). NO tug of war with bully breeds (do not play competetive type games). 3rd) The walk...you walk the dog, not the dog walks you! You always lead the way. The walk gives you the greatest form of leadership and bounding with your creature, 4th) You must initiate everything...affection included. Meaning, if your animal comes over to you while your laying on the sofa and in anyway puts its body on you, in a relaxed... but firm way, move away, and ignore (don't say anything), later when the dog goes and lays down, then you go over and start petting and giving love. And if it brings a toy, ignore the dog, or make it sit, or down stay, until you decied to intiate play time. I have much more, so feel free to ask. Also, making the dog work for food, it will appreciate every meal. And don't keep switching brands, dogs are not humans there not picky eaters, they just need to do something to earn their food! Good Luck, and please raise your bulldog right, do not use anger or aggressiveness to teach the animal. Allow your bully to grow up and be an ambassador for all bully breeds, to show the world how great they really are! Thanks You can feed twice a day. Also, Now is an important time for your animal...you must start introducing the dog to all types of people and experiances (socialize it!).

Take the dog out every couple of hours to the same spot. Use a phrase when it goes like "hurry up" so it knows what you want it to do. Twice a day is plenty for a pup but you should ask your vet or breeder how much and how often and what kind of food is best for the breed. Get a trainer and you'll never regret it. Use a trainer that believes in behavior modification and not punishment - no choke chains. Don't do to your doggy what you wouldn't want done to you.

Most puppies aren't reliably trained until they are at least 6 months old (there are always exceptions though) A lot of it depends on how consistant the owner is in taking them out and praising them for doing their business in the correct place.
An eight week old puppy should be fed 3 times a day if at all possible.

If you're consistent it shouldn't take too long. Feed him at the same time every day, and let him out, say, 10 minutes later. But do this everytime. Wait outside until he does his deed.
