Bare feet. The baby learns to walk through tactile contact with the ground. Also better for development of the foot. Shoes are good for areas that may have sharp objects you can't see.

I guess it would be better to learn to walk without shoes. Im thinking of the extra weight having to be carried around. Keep it simple for the child in question, the seasons should be your best indicator, if it is too cold, then wear shoes, if not go barefoot.
Neither is right or wrong, good luck.

They say its better to go bare foot, I only put mine in shoes when we were going out, otherwise she was barefoot or in socks with the no slip grippies on the bottom.

My pediatrician recommended bare feet, but I dont think shoes will do harm either.

Shoes help them balance better.
