In my early days, I wanted to play in a jazz group, so I did. Later on, I wanted to teach at the university level so I got my Ph.D. and taught college seniors and graduate students--I loved it! I wanted to write a book and somehow manged to get it published. I'm now enjoying a happy retirement with my wife, traveling, especially on cruises that have a jazz theme. Sometimes I sit in with the band. Evidently I've succeeded in attaining my main goals. Whatever, I'm happy!

well, yes & no, at such a young age, i didnt know for sure what my goals were, but as i reached a more mature level of age, i wanted to just make it thru grade school & high school. when those years passed & i was old enough to be out on my own, i decided then & there to be just me & take what life gave me. at age 20, i was a factory worker & married & had one child. then the military came in, & i entered a new phase of life that made me even more to stay with the factory setting. i was devorced before entering service{ AIR FORCE-1969} & wanted nothing more than to get it over with & get back to a more relaxed life. but again marriage got in the plans & had 3 more kids, who are all married now. i am currently retired at age 63, enjoying the relaxed style , so my answere would have to be a solid no. but i had fun along the way planning but never worked up to all my wantings & wishes. i feel good about where i am at today & have no regrets. just alot of memories & good times.

It kept changing, To my mothers shock I put US Marine in my year book. After graduation in 1963 I joined the Corps. I planned to be a career Marine. After Vietnam , I married.
I left the Corp for a Career in Finance. I was fired after becoming mgr after beating up a customer (long story). I went to work for a furniture appliance store. After a religious epiphany in 1979. I had a Christian radio show sponsored by My store. We were on the air about two years, it was a ministry. (no money)in 1998 My partner and I bought out the store and in 2003 opened another one. At our height we had 53 employees. As the business started down. We got involved with building supplies (Importing) We also started an American Indian Org.
and a few LLC's for building, supplying and holding.
None of this was planned.

I'm not sure that I am as old as you mean. I am 26 years old, which is young but an the old side on Yahoo! Answers.
My one area of success is my marriage. As of today, I have been with my husband 7 years. This is the great joy in my life.
I have not gone to college and been in a career as I had planned. But I have learned a lot in my working life. I still plan to go to college, mostly so my brain stays active.

A few days ago I finally accomplished my life-long dream. I completely ingested a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich by shoving it up my nose while barking out the declaration of independence backwards and playing a banjo with my left foot and a violen with my right. I'm 74 years old, and I finally got it. I love my life.

Sad to say didn't even expect to reach 50. Not because I have anything tragic, I should add, just because it always seemed so old. Perfectly happy though, and taking life as it comes.
