No matter how annoying it is when people get in your face and start spouting their religion, it is not the right thing to do to slap them. Try a different tactic. Start spouting about something totally irrelevant that you are knowlegable about and try and convert them to it. IF you don't let them get a word it they will soon get fed up and leave. This way you get to have some fun with them

It is so hard to listen to people that are irritating you so much.
If you listened long enough to get that irritated then it makes me wonder why you continued to stay there and listen?
Are you related to them? In that case they might slap you back.
Do you work for them? You might get fired.
Did they walk up to you on the street? Why did you not just walk away?
Did they knock on your door? Just shut the door.
Ask your self why it bothered you so much that you wanted to slap them. Then question yourself as to how to handle it next time.

Not unless you are not against spending several nights in a nice cement cell full of men who are named "spike" or "killer". Don't even engage these people. Be rational and cool. You are committing assault and battery if you slap them. Not necessary. Walk away.
