You're a great sister. Your sister needs you. Love her and help her. Make sure she sees a doctor. Let your mum know.

You are a good sister, please continue to help her, but tell your mum everything. Don't delay, because time is not on your side- your sister could do it again and this time it could be fatal. Make sure your mom understands that the Prozac is not enough and that she needs to be watched 24/7 until she gets finished with therapy. You should also talk to the doctor that gave her the prozac and explain your concerns. If you can't call that doctor, call the emergency room near you and talk to a doctor or nurse there. Maybe they could give some advice for you to tell your sister that would help her. you both are in my prayers.

Unfortunately your learning a reality here. And that reality is that any problem in a house hold effects every member of the family! As a family member you are a part of it. Your 18 and not a child. It's not an issue of right or wrong! Or fair or not fair! It's a family member in trouble. No, it is not your fault at all. It may be good for you to see a counselor to help you through this! It's hard and I know it. We had similar problems in my family! God forbid she comitts suicide, but if she dose, that's not your fault either. Have you advised your Mother of your sister's other problems? If you haven't the you are an enabler to her!

You need to talk to your parents and ask them to address your sisters mental health head on!
You need to tell your sister that you will not cover for her anymore, as this is not "helping" her at all, in fact you are contributing to her condition by keeping her secrets. Everything needs to come out in the open and then be addressed appropriately, this will mean that your parents will need to have your sister assessed and treated, perhaps in a hospital at first then as an out patient.
This is life threatening and needs urgent action NOW!
You also require some support from a mental health authority, your whole family can be helped with counseling and learning how to best help your sister and keep her safe.
I wish you well, you are a wonderful caring sister and this is not a burdon you need to carry alone.

Your sis needs love and support, but so do you! Don't feel guilty for the way you are feeling. This is a lot for someone your age to have to go through. Talk to your mother candidly about what you and your sister are going through. Hold nothing back. Insist that she get some more help and counseling for yourself and your sister. Failing that, talk to a trusted teacher or counselor at school. Don't bear this burden alone. Good luck to both of you.

if your parents know u should have them check out an intervention. it is a real good idea because it is like a meeting with everyone that loves the person that needs help and then help is offered to em. then i would also suguest that anyone that is involved get some sort of counciling it will be great for everyone. also if your sister should EVER cut herself again you really need to tell someone. that is a serious PROBLEM. hope that this helps you out.

this seems almost too much for anyone any age to handle. you are a very caring and loving sister, and i think that your sister appreciates you more than you know. she thrives for the attention you shower her with while you are tending to her.
unfortunatley, you can't share with her how much of a toll she is taking on you or that my well be the last time you will be able to be with her. i suggest you speak to your mother as she is the parent and legal adult . your sister may special help and maybe another type of medication. if you can do any of this without your mom ( if your sister is older than you) than maybe you can talk to your sister about seeing the doctor or changing her meds. keep up the loving attititude.. God bless you.

No it is not your responsibility to clean her wrist but you can help her if you want to. She needs help from a psychiatrist and so should you and your mother so you know how to deal with her episodes of depression. Remember what she does isn't your fault and you need to think of your self as well. I am sure she is getting her self plenty of attention from your mother and others by doing what she is doing. Any idea why she has such behavior?

try talking some sense into her.if shes depressed, try to cheer her up.spend some quality time with her,but dont bring up the situation.take her out somewhere that she would enjoy.i wouldnt know if she has friends or not but if so,talk to them too.try to dechipher what she wants of this world.maybe theres somone who
is influencing her.think back to when you first noticed changes in her attitude, expression,or mood.try to make her smile, laugh.nothing better than having a good laugh when im down cheers me up.just try not to push her for info.
