My older brother told me to do reverse crunches, crunches, and oblique crunches ( 3 sets, 20 reps). Is this a good workout? or should I get my own workout instead of this one?

Yes, those sound good for sure. You can also do some Pilates, you can get a dvd on line, doing these are all core muscles, and your abs get strong really fast. I teach Pilates, and can tell you your abs get strong quickly! We also do the ones your brother suggests in aerobic classes at the end of class, so it's all good.

sparkpeople.com can help give you a work out plan..

3 sets of 20 sounds like a lot .. 10-12 reps is a better number but try sparkpeople.com .. they will go through some steps and then tell you how many to do ..

also can try myfitTrainer.com

both sights are free

You should start out slow start with just doing crunches and then you can work your way to 500 or more a day.

That's a very good workout, however, don't strain yourself in the beginning. Keep working up to a higher level.
