If your budget is SHOT, and you need to work with what is at hand (maybe also because it is wind chill minus 40 and 5 miles to nearest open store, and you have no gas...)... Well, CHEER UP, because there might be help as near as your kitchen cabinet: All of the following can help: Ginger Ale Ginger Tea Ginger (the spice) a little bit in warm water. Baking soda, 1/4--1/2 tsp in a glass of water Your grandmother's Pepto Bismol, if it's almost all gone, pour water in the bottle and shake. Drink it up! Or chew up some calcium supplement tablets (a couple) and swig it down. As the neighbor if they have any TUMS or ROLAIDS or ALKA SELTZER. There's always something you can do, even in a pinch. Remember to keep some Duct Tape handy too.

In the countryside in the Dominican Republic, they mix Yerba Mora, Juana la Blanca (two local herbs) and Maiz verde (corn that is still green)

It works pretty well as a tea.

I'll go see if I can find how to translate the first two ingredients.

More importantly >>> try to relax and get do something you enjoy to lessen the stress.

I can't find an English name for Juana la Blanca but it is a well-known herb.

Yerba Mora is Solanum americanum technically speaking. It is also good for facial problems. also called yocoyoco

no kidding.

Root-beer is a great remedy, especially if you're vomiting. When my children were small and had colic, the Dr told me to give them Coke, in the old days they used coke syrup as medication, I guess. Feel better!

If it's food, mint tea or ginger tea. If it's nerves, deep breathing and thinking of how none of this will matter in a few years- detatchment, I guess.
