I am working long hours on my pc and it is really affecting me. I would like to know if switching over to LCD monitors will be more healthy for my eyes. I am currently using a LG Flatron F700B CRT monitor.

Any old way looking at a monitor for a long time will bother anyone even if you switch to a LCD it is better for you but still will hurt....try takeing quick breaks like 1-2 minutes so your eyes can rest from the strain.

Yes LCD monitors are far better for your eyes.

With CRT monitors the image is perpetually refreshing and causing your eyes un-necessary strain with minor re-focusing necessary while viewing. However, LCD screens print a fixed image and update every few microseconds. (Eg. Some have a 8ms refresh rate), over the long term this is definitely an improvement over CRT for your eyes.

I bought an LCD monitor for my desktop after the sales guy brought that fact up. Personally, I do feel slightly less eye strain on the LCD than the CRT.

Yeah ... LCD are much better than the CRT ... they work on the Liquid Crystal Display principle .. which is like the ink .. while the CRT uses electrons that hit the florescent screen to produce the colors

Have you tried just changing the resolution on your monitor.

We have ours at 800 x 600 pixels. Anything smaller and yes it does strain my eyes.
