i feel so frusterated with my entire life right now. i have three years left of high school. all my friends have changed to the point that i can't stand hardly any of them. i keep trying to get a job, but there's no places that will hire any one under the age of 16. my life is so mind numbingly boring, nothing exciting ever happens to me. nothing exciting in a good way or a bad way. either one would be fine by me, anything to get me out of this constant state of monotony. i'd like to have the guts to do something insane, but i'm frusterated with who i am, i'm way too cautious and quiet. the kind of person teachers and parents alike just absolutely adore. straight A student, reliable, responsible, hard working, trustworthy. i'm so SICK of it. i want to do something completely out of character. got any suggestions? make me laugh cause right now i feel like crying tears of plain frusteration.

Aw, it'll be okay. I'm glad you have the smarts to realize that you don't like the way half of your friends act - some people don't but they will never admit it to themselves, because they're too scared to be different, or true to themselves, and then they're even more miserable. At least you have that! Keep at it, it sounds like you're in the makings to be a pretty cool person. (I'm 21 and I'd hang out with you!)
I was the same way in school too, always the good one. I wouldn't suggest doing anything harmful like drinking or drugs to deviate, cause you know that's just stupid. But hmm, what kind of stuff could you do to get out of your daily routine, get in touch with a side of yourself that you actually like?
For me, this would be something like starting to paint really weird paintings (humorous or kind of whimsical and colourful) or going for a walk in the middle of the night (as long as your neighbourhood is safe, and if not, then just sitting on your doorstep) and hanging out with yourself.
How about sports? Or doing something really uncommon like fencing or luge? Hahah. I always wanted to luge because no one else does it.
And whatever you do, don't make another "job" out of it - do it whenever you're inspired or lonely or need yourself. Don't ask people to grade you if all they'll expect is perfection, like in school and everything else you do. Be creative, surprise yourself!

You are your own best friend. You have yourself, and you know yourself better than anyone. Appreciate yourself and don't get so down; it seems you are growing into your skin just fine. It's painful but one day you'll get out of there and find friends you REALLY love and who can appreciate you and your sense of humour and your wild side too.

Hmm, now to make you laugh? Howsbout this lame joke:
"What's big and green and if it fell from a tree, it could kill you?"
"A pool table"

Hyuk!

You're probably the only sane one in your school! Everyone there is so into being a conformist that they have no clue who they are. Their identity comes from the people they hang out with--who are trying to be just like everyone else. You're on the right track! If you're this astute at 16, you'll be a whiz in college.

I was like you in high school. I hated every minute of it, and even now when I think about it (37 years later) I still get sick to my stomach. I knew I was different, but at that time high schools didn't have as many opportunities for unique kids like you.

Try something no one has done before--but that won't get you expelled or suspended! Adopt a persona--maybe a Marlene Dietrich style (if you don't know who she is, ask your grandparents or rent one of her old movies). Develop a mysteriousness about you. Don't be nerdy about it--but an occasional far-away look, a Mona Lisa smile--something that makes others wonder what you're up to.

You sound like you have style and imagination. Have you tried drama club? Maybe you'd rather be behind the scenes so learn about being a director. If your school doesn't have a theatre dept. maybe there's a local organization in your town you can be involved with. What about writing? Could you take a class at the Community College? If that's not feasible, why not do an oral history of your grandparents, or at a retirement home? If you put the right amount of effort into it, maybe you could convince your local newspaper to let you do a column every couple weeks on some aspect of what you learned--say the cost of things during the Depression and tie it into what teens and adults have to pay now.

Learn to become a docent at a museum. Do scut work for an artist or pottery maker. Either you'll have a hobby or learn you have a hobby that can lead to a career. Don't worry about a job right now--you're just bored and think a job is the answer. If you need the money, ask the counselor at school for suggestions. Or, pose another question on Yahoo answers for advice.

One last thought--about the local newspaper--maybe you could write movie reviews for teens that could appear once a week. You might even be able to convince them to have a separate section geared to teens--health, movies, books, whatever teens are interested in. Could lead to a journalism major.

There's this Wizard who worked in a factory. Everything was satisfactory except that certain miscreants, taking advantage of his good nature, would steal his parking spot. This continued until he put up the following sign: "This parking space belongs to the Wizard. ... Violators will be toad."

There is the humor...hope it made you smile.

You are who you are, and according to your description you are a fine person who has too much time on her hands. Know that your feelings are neither good not bad - everybody has feelings. It is your actions that can lead to trouble. Maybe far more trouble than you can imagine at your age.

If you sincerely cannot find work, then find something to do as a volunteer. Call local charities, hospitals, USO, your church, etc. and find out where there is a need for an intelligent young woman. Get involved helping others and you might see that your life is far better than you believe.

You will have the last laugh when you graduate from a good college, make lots of money, drive a cool car and live in a nice house. I was a slacker kid in high school, I partied and I did not make any plans for the future. I have had a hard working life as the result of that. Just keep going, all your efforts are worth it.
If you want a good laugh go to stuffonmycat.com. Some of the pictures there make me laugh out loud.

I don't know if I can make you laugh, but you are me 10 years ago. And you know what? I regret high school so much now that I want to go back. I want to go back and tell the people I hate to "F off" and just be myself. I was so quiet and hardly partied at all. Then I spent the four years after high school wasting time getting drunk and stoned. I am not condoning drugs and alcohol, I am just saying I wish I would ahve enjoyed high school while I was there. Do something crazy...you will be laughing about it 10 years from now.

This is a serious suggestion. Study the Bible and start obeying all the commandments. For example, learn the Holy Festivals like Passover, Tabernacles, and Trumpets. Learn the difference between the unclean and the clean, the holy and the common. Learn why these are neglected by christian churches today. Read Genesis through Deuteronomy. God wants us to learn and obey His commandments.

Ok first you want to do something spontaneous...go to school with your clothes on backwards i know this is small and stupid but it will get a few laughs and its on the road to something bigger. Second just deal with it for right now.....try drama or dance or band or something after school to start socializing with people. Get new friends thats another thing. The big thing is if your town sucks theres not really gonna be anything to change. and if you feel like crying cry after a bit you'll feel alot better..just look towards tommorow.

My two sons were the same way. One was a good student, good child, responsible, and everything you are.........Now he's a Proud Marine serving in California.
My second son was into being popular, trouble, witchcraft, freaky, and did everything wrong............ now he's a dad of 2 at 23 and sponging off me and dad. Go to a concert and yell and scream and them come back to earth. Life is what you make of it.Buy some wacky bumper stickers to put on your friends windshield( not on car, and easily removable.)

Hey, cheer up, your going through a rough time right now. It's only a test; to see how your going to handle important issues in your life. If you go through life complaining that nothing is going your way now, how are you going to be that important person. That has control on many when your time comes. Be faithful in small issues, he'll (God) give you the desires of your heart. Shalom, remember your Loved !

Try doing some extracurricular activity like Theater, Choir, Band, Sports. I was really into Theater. It sounds up your alley; may help you come out of your shell. Theater types are usually a blast to hang out with, too. (If I do say so myself.)

O.k. that wasn't funny at all, but hopefully at least helpful.
