I absolutely believe in God, without a doubt. I do not read the bible as well as I should, I do go to church and bible study.

Yes I actually, truly and honestly believe in God.
either that, or I am actually, truly and honestly delusional.
I would listen when my mother or priest read from the bible, but I do not feel worthy of reading it. I tried it a couple times, but found it either quite overwhelming (to the point of being unable to speak) or quite frightening. (yes, I am a coward), except for the book of Tobit. I really love that book. It rocks. Too bad its apocryphal.
Church? I used to attend daily when I had nothing better to do, and yes, it is the place of peace beyond the peace you would expect, very much like laying around on the beach soaking up the sunshine. However, since having kids, and not being in very good control of them, I've found that going to church is more like a battle zone (my kids, not the people there), so I stopped going. I returned on occasion, but could not participate since I kept getting choked up for some odd reason.
The last time I went to church, my parents were visiting, and none of us could stay unemotional. It is deeply moving.

Me ... no and no. Personally, I find it incredible that any one could put their faith and life in the hands of such a cruel and devious god as has been depicted in historical religous accountings. And yes, I'm aware that christian rebuttal to this statement would enamour this god as one so great as to sacrifice his own son for our very souls. But my view of that would be his actions were akin to the taking of 'hostages'. If we are to believe the modern bible to be true and accurate words of god then surely he knew that in order to 'control' a civilization a god must hold them hostage to the worship of him/her in the long term. What better way to do so than to both immortalize and martyr himself through ritual sacrifice. Not unlike the worshipers of idols and mythological gods he sought to control throughout religious history. As the saying goes "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" and the history of this saying originated with the Roman Catholics. My personal opinion is that all this 'soul saving' is yet another brilliant and strategic move on the behalf of all religous movements which seek mind control for profit. I will say though, in all fairness, this has parlayed itself into the longest running scam of all times and many a television evangelist lives with gold plated door knobs and silver lined table ware. Uncle Sam should be making notes and learning how to be better liars .. I mean leaders.

I have put my faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; I surrender my life to Him. I am His bondservant. I do read His Word, and I do belong to a church body. I realize that many reading this answer will laugh and wonder how anyone could be so completely brainwashed. To those of you who think that, I have only one thing to say:
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
God bless!

I think more to the point: which God? A theistic one that judges, rewards, sends people to heaven and others to hell? A non-theistic one that is unconditional love? Which concept is the right one? Then we get 'knowing'. What is knowing? Islamic terrorists are convinced they 'know' that god will reward their behavior with 72 virgins - their mind's integration of their belief system is so strong that they're convinced they KNOW. Is this belief-integration really 'knowing'? It seems to me that the only ones who KNOW are the ones who have a real and direct experience of 'god' (called enlightenment) where concepts fall away.
