Let him play as a reward for good grades only- no exceptions. This will turn to a habit that your son knows he has to work for.

Don't let him play. and when he does get to play because he does good in school or passes a quiz reward him by letting him play but only a certain amount of time say about 2 hours of TV is healthy for a kid. Try that, i think it'll work. and he'll realize he has to do good in school to get a new game for his xbox 360 or if he even wants to play.

Obviously he has lost his right to a privelige that was given to him for good preformance. Put the xbox away for a month and reward him with a tutor in the class he failed, if he proves he is back on track then let thx xbox back in in a controlled manner after his studies if his grades don't improve sell the xbox to pay the tutor.

First, take away the game!! Then, after his grades improve, control how much time he can spend on the Xbox. Only after his homework is complete, and even then, limit the amount of time he is allowed to use it. Let him know that it's a reward and a privilage.

I would recommend taking it away. Video games have a way of causing a major distraction away from what needs to be done. Once he has his grades back to an acceptable level then allow him to play only on week ends after homeowork and chores are done. Once he is back to where he was before then allow him to play it once homework and chores are finished even if it is a school week. That way he feels rewarded.

Take his games away. Tell him what he needs to do to get the xbox back.. But limit it the first quarter to weekends. IF the grades slip, he loses the xbox for the quarter. If he maintains his grades, he can add 1/2 hour on weekdays. But I would not let him go above an hour during the week unless it is vacation time.

You need to take the xbox 360 away from him. Tell him he gets it back when he brings his grades back up. Once you do this, limit his playing time. If his grades still don't come back up after taking the game away, you have more serious problems. Do not fail your son. Be a strong parent.

Take away the system and everything he holds dear to him until he gets his grades back in order. It seems that he has lost focus in the school work. He has put the focus into the video game system. Until he can get his grades where they need to be he doesn't need access to the system.

My mother stole the power cords to my NES and SNES when I was in middle school because I was way too obsessed. I was livid since I almost had Final Fantasy II (American) beat, but I ended up improving my grades significantly. She let me play on the weekends and over breaks, but she was strict on schooldays. When I proved I could handle gaming without giving up on my scholastics, my rights were restored. Don't cut him off completely, and don't make it seem like a punishment-- just let him know that he needs to reprioritize, and that you're going to help/force him to see that.
