If I understand it right you wonder how you can convert it to regular time efficiently. Up to 12:00 it is always a.m and after 12:00, There are two ways:
1 - subtract 12 from the military time
eg. if it is 17:00 - 12:00 = so it's 5 pm
or 20:00 - 12:00 = it's 8 pm
2 - subtract 2 from last digit of the military time:
eg. 18:00 the last digit is 8 - 2 = 6 pm
if it's 22:00 - last digit is (1)2 - 2 = 10 pm
I don't if this is practical but you can try.

Military time uses a 24-hour clock. 0000 is 12:00 am (midnight) and 2359 is 11:59 pm. Military time always has 4 digits and the time starts with a 0 before 1000 or 10:00am. Afternoon, to convert the time from military time to standard time, just subtract 12 hours. 1536 becomes 3:36 pm. From 0000 to 1200, just add a colon in the middle, so 0925 becomes 9:25 am. Military time is often bases on Zulu time, so the time would read 1700 zulu. Zulu time is the time at the Prime Meridian. You add or subtract hours to the time based on your time zone relative to GMT.

The Military Clock runs on 24 hour time periods -- so anything over 12:00 hrs is in the afternoon and evening. It is just that simple.

Easy Military time is based on a 24 hr clock if the time is
is 7am in military time it is 0700. if the time is 12 noon
it is 1200 hrs 12:15pm is 1215. 3pm is 1500 hrs and 1130 pm is 2330 hrs. But 12 midnight is not 2400 hrs it is0000 hrs and 1230 is 0030hrs. see it is simple. just remember it is based on a 24 hr clock instead of a 12 hr clock.
