well, the Bible is an allegory (now i'll explain that to you because i see you need a lot of help with your grammar, that means, with your language structure, a language? why thats what you use to communicate with...*frown* communicate? omg! well, anyway, read on) an allegory is something with a deeper meaning, because if everything we said in everyday speech was dull and flat, it would mean we dont have a very creative mind. (or we lack intelligence)
for instance, when we read poetry, we say things like...'the wind danced in the trees' but wind cannot really dance u see, its merely a creative way of expressing a thought, so as to pull us into the moment and the celebration of the moment...a sort of entertaining play on words.
Now because God applied wisdom, as explained in the book of Proverbs, he says we need to seek wisdom, because he blessed us with brains. The bible was written with Wisdom, and meant to make us wise or wiser than we already are. It is abstract, and makes many points inbetween by means of parables...but if one is dumb enough to get your grammar so confused, i dont know why i'm trying to explain anything to you?

Nice English,Pal.The bible is not confusing at all.Get a 'Living Bible' translation. It's the easiest to read.Sure it has some allegories and parables, but they are not that hard to figure out.God wants you to think. The King James version is the most readily available, but it's written in 16th century english.Jesus didn't speak that way.I think it is translated from the best sources, but for a beginner it's tough. Also it takes the Holy Spirit to open your understanding(Ask Him,you might be surprised).

Buddhism does have its own metaphorical teachings, but ultimately it is generally understood; the goal is to transform your mind and the metaphors are not taken literally.
Many Christians today are being told that their Bible is factual instead of metaphorical. This is a huge mistake since it closes all outside dialog and, ironically, looses much of the power of the Bible by interpreting it literally.
There is nothing wrong with metaphor as a form of communication. Proof is that our mind uses metaphor to communicate with the subconscious... i.e. dreams.

Why change the Bible. Just because people change, does not mean the word has to change. Everyday you see and hear people wanting to change things. Do you know what the Bible stands for?..... It is the teachings and the comings of Chris, but it also stands for: "Book, of Instructions, Before Leaving Earth. Bible.......

Buddhism is--it seems--the natural mindset of one who studies the teachings of a religion.
The Bible is just the text that religion-studiers agree to meditate upon, and to teach the non-studiers to live by.
Anyway, the Truth the Bible teaches is not a truth you can see, you can't just flip a light on and believe that you've earned forgivness for every wrong thought you'll ever have.
And I'm fairly sure the Eightfold Path is only "noble" to those who've been trained in it; the Bible's teachings are not only for those who want to see/hear-and-know, it's also for those who just want to feel-and-know.

Jesus said I speak in parables so that the ones that don't believe will be confused, but the ones who do believe will know the answer. He speaks in parables so that you will study His word instead of blind faith. The entire world will know God. It is up to them to believe or reject it. That is the free will part of it. Buddism is made up by humans just like all other religions like it. They get you no where.

leuroth, yes, some cannot tolerate strong light of truth. Jesus explained this ,I don't recall where. Some understand the physical but not the deeper meaning, that is why he spoke in parables, no one can understand things of spirit until thine eye become single. unity awareness, all this is God, all this is GOD. read Ephensian 2-22 & 4-6,see GOD in all things. The Bible DOES teach POINTS to the people, if you prefer the points given in buddism then that is fine. I find truth my way, and you find it yours, and we will all meet at the same place in the end, ok?
