The main reason is that i live off campus, and its hard to really find friends except the ones in my classes. I've been to all the major parties so far, but mostly i'm just standing around cus i don't know anyone, and it'd be easier if i had someone to intoduce me to people, but i don't. So i'm trying to think of ways to break the ice so i can make the most out of my college experience. Any ideas?

Sign up for some student activites group, like dancing or hiking or biking or whatever you like to do. This way, you'll have a reason to meet people.

It realy helps me - I'm a grad student. If not for my student group, I'd be stuck in the lab with 3 other people for months and months and months. (I;m done with classes, so I don't even have that opportunity anymore)

Parties are no use for me either, especially large ones because I don't know anyone and really have nothing to discuss with these strangers. And I just don't feel like introducing myself.

Personal experience tells me that college is not the place to worry about friendship. College has enough problems just getting through it. Study hard as you can and make the grades. Go to any study halls you hear of, go to the library when you can. Get in maybe one group that has to do with your lifestyle to say this is who I am there are plenty of those clubs but they come last. Study comes first.

join a frat/sorrority. Find clubs to get involved with, or intramural sports. Or make your life easier and move to a dorm. most importantly, give it some time, most people don't become friends over night.

just hang out on the campus after class reading or drawling. make sure you look and smell nice. look approachable, smile at passer bys and say hi. no one hates frienly people. and dont reject any "losers" they are the best friends of them all cause they have time to sit and visit.
