Only God's son , Jesus Christ , was able to die for our sins. He alone was able to do this because he was perfect and thus was able to , in a sense, balance out the scales for the perfect life that Adam lost when he disobeyed God and ate of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.
No human on Earth is able to take away anyone else's sins. If a person has led a life where they are displeasing to God, there isno amount of sacrifice or prayer that a family member can do to make up for that in God's eyes. It is up to each individual to make him/herself pleasing in God's eyes. In the end, at 'judgement day' , its up to YOU and GOD and no one else can intervene and help you. Whether you are a child care worker who takes food to the elderly and has Bible studies with 42 people a week and gives $50000 a year in donations to charities that help the poor, or if you are a child molester who robs the elderly and is always scamming the poor out of what little money they have and you pick on the honest and good hearted people you know-- it comes down to you and God in the long run. NO one can save you BUT YOU. Saying "Hail Mary's " or whatever, paying extra Tythes or making bigger donations into the plate they pass or teaching extra sunday school classes isn't going to save your cousin Mike if he is a drug addict. You can't save other people. Its a PERSONAL choice of each and every person, for them and them ALONE to make.

Sorry sweetie, but that's how it goes.

In theory, we are all related to God because we are all his children. In turn, this makes us all insestual and means we are all going to hell.

Did I miss the point of the question?
