Accept that everyone feels lonely, that it is normal....Call friends, say positive things to yourself (like, I am loved.), remember good memories..read your diary....keep a diary of each positive social experience.... Do a kindness to someone....random acts of kindness....and NEVER , Never give in to negative thoughts...just say no; I know it's easy to say BUT JUST DO IT !
don't get into the self-pity...it's a waste of time....just say Oh, there's that self-pity; I've got better things to do

I try to keep myself occupied. I maybe pick up a book and read it, find a good flick on TV, play with my computer and maybe take the dog for a walk. I hope that maybe i helped you a little.
