You have to realize you're not the only female on the planet. Obviously you need to do more to get his attention.

The answer to your question "What gives?" is that he is not as into you as he is into this other girl.
I would like to comment, instead, on the post script.
"He seems really nice too. and he likes the same things i do. not that that matters."
His being nice is a far more valuable quality than his being hot or otherwise, as you will find out when you are older. That he likes the same things you do is a marvelous bonus. It matters very much.
I wouldn't forget about this boy, if I were you. Keep your eye on him and let him know (subtly) that you remain interested. You two sound like a match made in heaven. I can't believe he asked out some other girl. Oh well, even the nicest guys can be total jerks.

I know EXACUALLY how you feel. I think almost every girl has been through this. Just remember that at that age (which I am guessing you are in Jr. or Sr. High School?) most guys are stupid and dont know what to do. They are mostly imature and dont know what is right and wrong. Just remember not to get caught up in one guy and remember your friends. Have fun and dont get into one relationship. Forget him, because most of the time when a guy does this, he doesnt really like you that much, and just wants a girlfriend or make out buddy. But on the plus side, there are still some very nice sweet and cute guys out there who will like you like you for you. Good luck and I hope for the best for you. =]

Hey, don't feel upset. Such things happen. Dry your dark feelings (don't deny you have them: that's the first step to revenge and depression) and move on. There are enough guys in the world for girls, and vis versa.

Don't worry, there will always be a second chance. Of course, if he comes back and aks you out, you have to choices: one is to really make him go low and say you don't like him (which may leave you satisfied or really depressed later on), or go out with him as if nothing happened, and enjoy the ride while it lasts.

He may also be taking the other girl out to test your response. Be careful, some guys do that, and the consequences to your emotional status are not funny. Don't get too caught up. If you really are interested, show some interest, but don't go overboard. He does not control you...

Hope that helped.

Would U have ever found out if he asked her out & she turned him down?
If U C what I mean?
Boys, I assume he's a boy not a man talking chorus class.
UR time will come, relationships have a short shelf life at that age.
No, I'm not saying UR childish, but he seems 2 B.
Whether U give him the time of day, when he comes knocking.
Up 2 U.
Boys, they're from Mars!

Hi It seems to me that he might think your looking for a guy friend and not a boyfriend . yer you told him via a friend that he is cute and he said your pretty but then again he might think Brittney Spears is pretty to , but he knows that he has no chance with her , if you get my drift . Girl if you think he is so fine spend the dime and get a date with the guy and let him know that the best thing that could happen to him is sitting right under his cute little nose .

Maybe he just wasn't sure about your intentions...and just relax about it all....he only "asked" her out. Since you haven't spent that much time getting to know him yet, you really can't hold him too accountable for it. I mean , for all you know, he could have been talking to /thinking about the other girl long before he met you, and although you caught his interest, he may have wanted to pursue his original feelings.. Sorry, if he's worth it, he'll realize his "mistake". Ps: keep your eyes open for other cuties! They're everywhere.

That happend to me once. The guy of mine asked out another girl to see how much I really liked him. I got mad and conforted him and he broke up with her for me. But if u don't think that is the case, u should just act like u don't care. Maybe he'll see how wonderful u are and change his mind.

start with asking him why he thought he said that, and just asked someone else out like that. That isn't right.

But if he dumps the girl, then move in. XD ask him out after a few days.

guys don't know what they are doing or what they want. just because he thinks you are cute and he likes you doesn't mean he doesn't like anyone else. it just means you are one of the people he likes. you have to realize he may have simply not thought you would want to go out with him, so he went for someone he thought he had a chance with. bottom line, most guys just don't know
