Well some people do ask fairly mature questions. But there are far worse things on the internet for younger teenagers to be doing. And it is not like they are causing a problem. If they answer your question inappropriatly, just disregard the answer, and don't worry about it. I am 15, but have been told that I am very mature for my age. And honestly, there are alot of things that people my age ask about on here that i don't even know what it is. But I have alot of respondsiblity for someone my age, and yahoo answers has helped me out a significant amount. So to say that people under 16 shouldn't be on here is pretty unfair. But I do see what you mean.

Actually yes and no. I mean, a 16 year old might really need some advice and it's sometimes easier getting advice from a stranger on line that you cant see than actually asking for it to someone face to face.
But on the other hand, no. I think there should be some way to know how old a person is so you know who your actually telling advice to.

I don't think they should block out a certain age group. If anything I think question askers should be able to chose a maturity level for their questions. In other words set up yahoo so people can pick pg, pg13, adults only, etc. That would probably be a good idea.

No way would I allow my son or daughter on Yahoo Answers. Not only are the questions on here adult related, there are some people on here that are of that age, sending messages that it's okay to be rude and disgusting! I can't believe some of the questions I have read on here!

Personally, I don't answer the "dirty" questions and if everyone else ignored them too then maybe all those people would get bored with asking them. The really immature questions are usually ignored too. If kids want to ask serious questions, not of a sexual nature then fine, I have no problem. If they want to talk about sex then they should be talking to mom and/or dad, not strangers.

There's plenty of adult discussion going on. There're plenty of teenagers asking questions and getting answers that they should probably be getting from their parents...

On the other hand, teenagers can come here and ask questions they'd be too embarrassed to ask their parents.

Read some of the questions and make up your own mind about whether this'd be okay for your own daughter.
Good luck.

Your question is moot, since it cant be policed. Fact is there are some good things in here that all 15 year olds should read, and some bad things that would peel paint from walls and curl the toes of your granny.

I believe people under 16 can be on this as long as they use it responsibly. I am not necessarily under that age but it's their parents choice, not ours. Let them decide if their kid is too young to be using this.
