Mojo Jojo,The closed mind asks such questions,but lets no light in. Why are you afraid to wake up Mojo Jojo???I agree adam and eve are allegory for humanity eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil,which means humanity took their eye off seeing god in all things(lost the single eye) and saw duality,now everything in this world is duality. Positive/negative,up/down,in/out,good/evil ETC. The bible was a way God communicated with people on their level at that time. THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO Whistle Britches

I completely disagree. It's not a mythology nor it's an event that took place on Earth. It's an initiation of life from a singular cell to as complex as human. It's a story how and why evolution works incorporating both the spiritual and physical aspect.
Then why it started out with human( Adam and Eve)? Somehow the bible pick up the phase and started out in the most complex evolved life because it is human who have the ability to digest such information and eventually understand the symbolic meaning of the story.
The theory of Evolution and Genesis are pretty much compatible. Just keep an open mind and set aside the reactive response at bay for a while.

Are dreams "pure nonsense"?
Now, if you want to backup a step and say that the idea of Adam and Eve being *factual* is nonsense, I would agree (but not word it with such disrespect).

Why should we (meaning Christians) give up our whole faith and everything we believe in just because some big headed aethiest says that it's "nonsense"? Well I for one would never ever give up my beliefs for someone who is so blind as to see the truth and not believe. How can you not? Look around you!!! Do you think this world was made by pure coincidence? or by mere accident? Well even though I strongly dissagree with you, I hope you soon come to see the truth and accept Jesus Christ. many people simply have a partisan set up in their heads between science and relgion. monday through friday a person can be a scientists, but come sunday, they are at church. deep down, people are simply afraid to be a nonbeliever. religion, while bogus, answers the questions, that we cannot yet answer. i think this explains adam and eve as well. the church simply has so much power of the will of people, that they can tell them any fairytale they want, and they will believe it without complete "faith." religion is fear, it plays off of the fear that there may be nothing after death. hence many people believe in the FAIRYTALE story of adam and eve.

Are you telling me that the idea that some little particles (and where did they come from) floating around and smacking into each other, then poof life makes more sense? Science has there ideas and they can't be proven either, based on their own definition of "Fact". Billions of people across the world for thousands of years I guess are just beyond stupid in your mind? The world is so complex and beautiful its no freak accident!! Talk to someone you respect and ask them why they believe, maybe it will give you better insight. God bless you.

Adam and Eve are a metaphor for innocence; pure consciousness that only knows itself, so connot know itself. We fall from the garden of eden into knowledge; ego. True awakening is to return to the garden, having discovered what we have lost.
The child and the shaven man have no beard. But the shaven man knows truly what it is to have no beard.
Personally, my fear of awakening is specifically about witnessing the truth of suffering.
