Is It Black or Brown?

Question

my hair looks black but when i put in really bright light it's brown. is it just the light or is my hair just really dark brown.

my questoin is do you think it is the light or is my hair really dark brown

It is probably the light. I am a professional photographer and when i color correct my color prints i take them outside to get natural light. So, i suggest grab a nice big mirror, head outside, and check it out! That will tell you for sure. Stand in the direct light, make sure you arent under a shade or anything.
It sounds pretty too, by the way, i always wanted naturally darker hair like that. :-) My guess is though it is probably dark brown.

Your hair sounds like mine except mine can get bits of red. But yeah, actually black hair is quite rare. I've seldom seen people with truly black hair.

So to answer your question it is just a dark dark brown.

my hair was like that...but after all the perm i put in my hair my hair is pratically medium/light brown and its very unlikely that ure hair is black unless u dyed it, ure hair is prolly a very dark brown. And its just the light that makes ure hair like that, becuz the color and brightness of light can make ure hair look any color

your hair is probly realy a dark brown the light just shows it and when u r in bad lighting it may only seem black.
or it may be just changing cuz of the weather....like if it is summer time.....or if u changed ur shampoo or conditioner or something. I would try that white surface thing that sounds like a good idea.

A hairstylist once told my friend that no hair is actually called black- it is dark brown. So people who have black hair are actually just darker brunettes.

well i have a cusin who has really dark hair and i think its black but she says its brown really dark brown. so now i agree and somtimes it looks really brown and somtimes it looks black so i think its the lighting (the lights r on he ceiling)
