It is raining and is staying around 60 degrees. I cannot put its Budgie companion outside to lure it because of the rain. If I put a cage outside-where should I put it-in a tree or down on a object near the house. I have been trying to keep the other bird near the window but without a second cage I can t keep it there (I need the one cage I have to put outside) I want it near the window to call out to the other one. I think it is why the escaped bird is staying closer because it can hear this one from time to time. Has even flowen towards the cottage but then overshoots into the forest on the opposite side. Once when they were calling each other it flew into our tree but was Windy. I want to at least get some food to it for a better chance of survial to try again. And it is suppose to stop raining and be warmer so I have more chance of it coming to the other bird when placed outside.

1st - place a few small dishes with the birds food outside where it is landing closest to the house. Can 1 dish be secured to the window from which it's inside buddy calls. It must be hungry. Use the food bowls or dishes it normally uses, if possible.
2nd - Since it responds to the other Budgie, I would leave that one near the window the other attempts a re-entry to the house.
It is not familiar with outside. Place 1 or 2 of favorite toys (hope you have a toy with a bell or mirror, because Budgies love mirrors & bells)outside the next to food & the window it hears its buddy.
Can an adult remove 1 or 2 window screens. The other Budgie will be in the cage near one. A cup of food can be secured to the window sills along with a bell toy or mirror.
It will come for food. And it is staying near so it will come back in if the windows are open. AND remember Budgies like a lot of light. It will follow the light now that the sun is going down.
Good luck. Go.

You will need to place the other keet in a small cage, then place that cage inside of another larger cage, set it on a picnic table or maybe the back steps , anywhere but in the tree, the objective is to get the loose keet out of the tree and back into a cage.
Good Luck.

I hope you birdie came back home? I keep my birds wings clipped because I take them outside most everyday. I would be worried to death if one flew away.

Besure to repost and let everyone know.
