Why should you NOT become a Freemason? I've never known a Freemason who regretted being one. The purpose is to make a good man into a better man through a system of conduct and attitudes used for dealing with other people.

“Freemasonry is an organized society of men, symbolically applying the principles of Operative Masonry and architecture to the science and art of character building.”

Apparently, a lot of people are confused about the Freemasons. It is not a "secret society," nor is it a cult, nor do they worship satan, though you'll find plenty of wacko misinformed "cult" websites that say they do. One of their requirements is a belief in God, although they are not a religious organization and don't tell the members how to worship. They transcend any religious affiliation, and base their actions on proper moral and ethical behavior.

I think it would be hard for Osama to be a good Freemason.

If you believe in the same things as the Freemasons, it would give you a chance to meet like minded men and make some new friends. Also, through their social programs, you'll have the chance to give back to your community.

If you can not survive on a lonely island. if you can not face life challenges alone, In other words, if you can not stand alone then you have to submit yourself to a pool or a cult for protection. Call it Freemason or Church if you like.

you have to ask yourself that question. becoming a mason is something you should contemplate yourself after you have spent some time looking into what they stand for. good luck, my family is full of them.
you'll hear all kinds of crap from folks who've read dan brown books and would love to show you their ignorance. if you would really like someone to use as a recognition for a mason, try George Washington.

Well, one reason may be the capability to network and make connections with lots of others whom are a part of the Lodge.

This could come in handy if you are ever in need of a job or good references.

My great grandfather was a 33rd degree mason.

There are a couple of Eastern Stars in my family still. My mother told me not to get involved, and I still don't know why. My aunts who are Eastern Stars won't discuss anything about it with me.

If that's what you want to do, go for it.

You can if you want to.
Another cult, this one has been around a long time.
Of all the people that signed the declaration of independence all but one was a Mason.
After it was signed they got rid of him, he wasn't one of the boys.
Does anyone know who the lone ranger was?
