The mind is a very unique thing. It is said this is a shared dream where when you fall sleep the real world is what you fall asleep to.

I'd tend to agree with that. I don't remember which philosopher said it, but apparently nothing is solid.
Being that you posed this question in Mental Health, I'd say that illusions and delusions are decidedly different. If there's a table in the middle of the room and we both agree that it is a table, then our illusions match. If you swore that the table was a lion and was going to harm you, then I'd say that perhaps you were delusional, maybe I'd go to the extent of making a joke about about it and say that you were disillusioned.
We all have our own view of reality. Perhaps these ARE best called illusions.

In a way yes. Our brains construct our reality, or perception of the world. Reality is different for everyone and everything, we develop concepts and explanations for what we are able to perceive or comprehend. Neurons, hormones, nerves, and other cells mainly in the brain, send electronic messages to each other and the messages are translated to our conscious in comprehendable terms. We don't notice much of what is going on in the world because our brains filter certain images and actions in our environment. We would be overwhelmed by the amount of stimuli and other things in our environment if it didn't. Also, we each have a individual way of perceiving certain situations than others, our own little reality of the world.

No. A created illusion is escaping reality by drug induced intoxication and by other means in order to separate yourself from real life(reality).

Who cares if it is or isn't because you can't prove it. Just enjoy what your mind interprets.
