It just doesnt make since to me. If we were at war just because of the oil wouldnt gas be a lot cheaper then 3 something a gallon. Plus there are 5 countries that have more oil then Iraq. For instance Canada and Mexico are the top 2. If we were just after oil why wouldnt we just invade these countries.

I think there are to many people that just go with the flow of what other people are saying rather then doing some research or asking american troops that have been over there what they are there for....

For all the people that think we are still over there for oil sure showed your ignorance. By answering the question with "because we are" shows that you know nothing on the subject and you are just speaking on behalf of what your liberal friends have told you.

The reason we are in Iraq is because to the terrorist. Osama used to live in Kuwait but during Desert Storm he basically tried to overturn the goverment because the US was in the country. Means we wouldnt leave he turned his hate towards the US and Kuwait kicked him out of there country. He is the leader of the terrorist that trained in Iraq along with the fact that is has been proven that Saddam was behind the majority of there funding....

We are at war for many reasons, and oil is one of them.

"Sgt B", I like your analysis of this whole thing.

I see one answer which brings up that childish, worn-out, left-wing belly-aching about Halliburton again. When will these people admit or even realize that Halliburton has some "no-bid" work, just like other American contractors in Iraq do, for areas of their own expertise, because there's NO VIABLE ALTERNATIVE to Halliburton's unique qualifications. Well, there is one other firm that comes close, but they're French, so why should the U.S. favor them instead of Halliburton?

People believe lots of silly things. They believe we attacked the towers, blew up the levees and that this country is some terrible place they have to live.

I don't see any of them moving any place.

They do not believe terrorists are bad people, just freedom fighters that chop off heads and blow up children to make a point they have no other way of doing.

But I don't see them moving any place.

The think they have lost lots of freedoms here in the USA,
some of them think George Bush created Hurricane Katrina.

But I don't see them moving any place?

I guess because no other country allows stupidity to be so freely expressed.

Because they are brain-dead idiots who do not like the USA and if it was for oil, the gas prices would be a whole lot lower than what they are now!!!

Sgt B...it's a waste of time to try to reason with these people. They are slogan chanters unencumbered with facts.

If that is not the case then intelligently please inform me of What the hell are we at war for?????????
Dont say Bin Laden because he is somewhere having tea and sex (when he's not fantasizing about Whitney Houston),not worried about us.

And dont say terroists in Iraq - as there were no terroists there before we invaded iraq!

The US is building at least 14 permanent bases in Iraq. It's called "Empire Building". The reason there is no exit plans is that there are no plans to exit. Check out " PNAC" on google.

This is not only about oil, this is about profit and The New World Order. You will eventually come to conquer Canada and you will win the initial battle but like Viet Nam and Iraq you will go running with your tail between your legs.

Because we are...
Everyone that says we are not at war for oil also says Hussain was the reason.

What reason? Hussain was no threat at all to us then or ever.

So what about Bin Laden?

Why didn't our wonderful leader go after him? After all he was the master mind behind the towers on 9-11?

because Bin Laden doesn't have oil in his cave...

THINK - LOOK AT THE FACTS

Hussain did nothing to the US but has OIL

Bin Laden Bombs US but has NO OIL

Who did Bush go after?

These people get their opinions from CNN. CNN makes it's money from selling the bad news. And blowing up the truth.
