i met a guy on eharmony. we have gone out 4x, and we get along pretty well. the problem is we live 1.5 hours apart, and only get to see each other once a week at most. he has implied that he would like to have a relationship, but i am not sure if this it would be a good idea. i'd gladly date him exclusively if he lived in the same city, but with the distance i am wary. even if we did end up having a successful relationship, we are both very settled in our respective cities, and not really interested in moving. any thoughts, or words of wisdom? is *starting* a relationship that will be long distance something that can work?

if you like him, go for it.
at worst, you will both feel that it cannot work out.
situations can change over time. but, if you never try, it will never work
good luck!

YES I BELIEVE IT CAN WORK B/C I HAVE BEEN IN ONE FOR 8 MONTH JUST ABOUT 9 AND EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL WITH US. WE ARE PLANING ON GETTING TOGETHER REALLY SOON. IF YOU TRULY CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER AND YOU BOTH WANT THE SOMETHINGS IN YOU RELATIONSHIP TOGETHER THEN THERE'S NO REASON WHY IT WILL NOT WORK. GOOD LUCK

If you like him, then make the sacrifice of moving someday to be with him.Why be in a relationship if you can't see your significant other?

It could work, but obviously one of you has to be willing to move at some point.

It isn't like he is in Rome or something. Maybe it will and maybe it won't. Who knows until it has been tried?

why don't you both pursue it and then both move somewhere half the distance to each other.
