I am interested in moving to Colorado. I have an AZ PE and will apply for reciprocity. I have read the information available from their board of technical registration. I am intersted to hear if anyone has moved to Colorado and gone through this. How long did the process take? Any problems with it?

Sorry I can't be more specific, but in the states I have obtained reciprocity or comidity in, it goes just fine. You have to fill out as much paperwork as for your first PE - your whole dang work history, but sometimes you need fewer references.

How long? Some states wait until the next time their board meets (CA, AK) to grant any priviledges. Others (OR) grant a temporary or provisional PE subject to approval or the whole board at their next (usually quarterly) meeting. The CO licensing board could tell you and give you any due dates to make the next board meeting. Wild guess? about 2 months, on average.

Going through NCEES and having them keep your references and work history on file streamlines things in some states, but initially is a pain and they expect you to be able to account for every month of your life since college with a work reference (whereas I, and my engineers friends, actually travel and vacation in between jobs).
