Hair spray is not helping it is weighing down your hair, Try mousse only. use your fingers and scrunch your hair . when wet .squeeze your hair . hair spray has oils in it in some . it only dries your hair and makes your hair heavy.

what i think the problem is because you have straight hair u need something stronger Use Garner Fruiteas fiber gum (small green container sold anywere hair stuff is sold)..... but do not use gell....unless u want ur hair to look shiney like it is wet(some people like that) whatever u use put the stuff in when it is wet not dry. Then defuse it upsidedown with a defuser to make it curly and schrunchy....do not use your hands though that will make ur hair realy frizzy and it takes to long to air dry.
This should take about 15 minuets.
good luck

I have heard if you just shampoo and don't condition your hair it helps. Or use gel and twist your hair into big sections while its damp. Then pin it to your head with bobby pins and either dry with a diffuser or air dry. When you take it down it will be wavy. Hope I helped!
