I am using the new beta for mac and i cant turn on the archive for messages? Does this version do archives?

No, the 3.0 beta version for Mac does not support archives. Yeah, it sucks. It doesn't even support manually saving convos. What you have to do to save is select all of the text in the convo, copy and paste into a text document and save it then.
