Why can't immigrants just behave correctly?

Why can't some immigrants(bc there are some that do behave) behave like normal citizens especially when you're in someone else's country? RESPECT!

I'm Mexican, and i know that you're angry with illegals for stealing, for being stupid, etc.. Please just don't brand all of the mexicans like that. I live in Mexico and I have to stand for Mexico, while many Mexican immigrants are just making us look like the worst human beings in the world.

i agree there are all kind of persons in all of the countries, but it's really hurtful that we get a lot of really rude comments, because many mexican immigrants can't get education. And people who actually have moral, and ethics; who have an education, like the majority of the persons i know here, get the hurtful comments.

Bunt - No, i don't get offended because I know I'm not like that, but i get bummed many persons are just as ignorant to think all of the mexicans and/or immigrants are that way.

I am white and I have never been more ashamed of the USA. And reading some of the answers to this question confirms my feelings. America is the most racist country in the word. And the laziest. They wouldn't pick cotton. So, we import slaves. And the black person still receives racism. We no longer have slaves, we need cheap labor. So the government turns thier head while corporations work Mexican slaves to death. Mexicans are not illegal immigrants, they are the new slave.

I don't see Mexican illegal immigrants acting out, ever. They are too afraid of being caught to do so. The government needs to get everybodies mind off the Iraq war. So what do they do? They put the focus on immigration. And the sheep in America and on this board go right along with it. Now they have something else to hate. The world is right. Americans are the dumbest people in the world. At least Jay Leno and some of the people on this board are.

To answer your question: They don't act any worse then the millions of mean hearted "white" people in this country. They are low key because they don't want to get caught. This is learned behavior. They don't know "how" to assimilate. Also they are the poorest, least educated and most socially inept people from Mexico. They are not the upper class of Mexico or they wouldn't be doing the slave jobs.

You have a problem with illegal immigration? Where were your big mouths 40 years ago? Or 10 years ago? It was going on then. This country has profited from the cheap labor. The corporations of today are the plantations of yesterday.

So to the racist on this board, just keep listening to the government. They will tell you who to be racist against next. They will tell you exactly what to think. And you will do it. And you will go on thinking, "If it wasn't for the Mexican my life would be perfect." You are pathetic, racist, small brained drones. Enjoy your life of hate and being a victim.

A large proportion of the illegals had criminal histories in Mexico. A lot of illegals are paid in secret and do not pay taxes. The illegals are costing the USA much more than they are contributing.
Unfortunately, too many people lump all Mexicans, even those whose families have been in the US for two or three hundred years, into the same category. They are suffering because of the illegals.
Is the "legal" Mexican community doing anything to try to stop the illegals? I hate to say this, but until they start speaking out, the problem is only going to get worse.

You might just as well ask "why can't people just behave correctly?" People come in so many varieties and nationalities, with each having their own unique individual experiences, that generalizations cannot capture why each person will react in the manner that they do to some particular stimulus or situation. We are all of us human and imperfect, and so even when we know what behaviors and standards are acceptable and expected of us in a given setting, our performance may not conform to what others want of us. If we do not know the rules and expectations, then we may be seen as "ugly tourists" or "disrepectful" others (whether we are immigrants or simply strangers depends on the circumstances).

Human nature.

When you are living in the village where you grew up, you know everyone, and everyone knows you. If you misbehave, you know you can't fool anyone about it, and any punishment due will come down on your head. Now you have moved into a new place. No one knows you, and you don't feel obligations to anyone here, and you think you can get away with doing whatever wrong thing you want to do. So you don't care about the rules here.

People from wealthier societies usually learn to think of Law as something to follow as a matter of principle, not just for fear of punishment, so they can move to other societies and live within those laws. But poorer people with harder lives think differently, and once they are moved out of their home villages, they feel free to do whatever they can get away with.

Its normal for first generation immigrants to try to keep their language. But the second generation mexicans/latinos/hispanics will be "americanized".

The illegal mexicans make the whole mexican race look bad, it makes the mexican race look weak and makes them look like they can't handle themselves.

The legal hispanics/latinos I have no problems with because they want to be in this nation becuase they love it. the illegals only want to leech off of america and then cry racism.

Most of us do know the difference between 'Mexicans' and the subset known as 'illegal aliens (who happen to be Mexicans)".

Consider the history of Mexico....their class system...peons who have always been worked to death for very little..or the rich ruling class. It is ignorance and never having a decent life or chance for one that makes them do these things. Most do, though, if they are in this country illegally, then even if they are behaving correctly and acting like normal citizens, their presence is reason enough for them to go to their countries of origin and make application to enter the US lawfully.
