Yes, forget the teddy bear! Drop to your knees and give him a 20 minute workout.

The answer to this question (that is asked quite a bit) is dependent on the ages of the people involved. A 14 year old and a 24 year old would give completely different gifts to a boyfriend to recognize a 3-month anniversary.

Its good to give something from the heart. In your friends case a teddy bear and a card maybe too feminine or tacky for a male anniversary present. I would suggest your friend give him something with meaning like a gift she makes for him they have great candle making kits, jewelry kits and things like that. Maybe a candle with the letter 3 and a heart would be more sentimental also she may make and keep one for herself so that they have the same thing because they are so connected and in love.
A scrap book is another creative idea, I gave my fiance one for our 2 year anniversy, I included little things like tickets to movies, stuff from places we visted, memories of him, quotes, things that made me laugh, song lyrics that we liked or heard during a memorable experiance also with pictures of us together. He really liked it.
You could also always go with things he likes if he likes games, tickets to a game or other memorbilia from games. Something he enjoys and likes. Instead of buying him a cd maybe make a cd of your songs, or songs that you think of him when you hear them. Something from your own heart is always a way to go.

Oh dear, you sound a bit clingy if you are buying 3 month anniversary gifts, it is like saying that he needs rewarding for sticking with you for so long.
You may scare him off. Why not just go out for dinner instead

it makes it a lot more special if she gives him something that's meaningful to him personally. go w/ something he has a special interest in- it'll show him she knows what makes him happy, and that she cares about him as more than just any guy she happens to be dating.
